Hello and thanks for dropping by. I hope you've had a good day. Please sit down for a few moments while I explain a little bit about what I'm looking for and something about me. Then, you can determine whether or not there's something here worth exploring. If you're interested and we "click" I'll want to know, over time, all about you.
If a local, physical relationship is NOT an option for you for the next couple of years or so, there are a few reasons why a long distance relationship could move you from lonely to an enriched state where you "have someone important in your life." This suggestion could work well if, you are, like me, constrained for some reason: marriage, sick parent, largely consumed with Mom duty, etc. If a more traditional relationship is an option for you, there's no point in even getting acquainted, proximity trumps long distance every time.
If you've never experienced a long distance relationship, you might be amazed at how much can be added to even the busiest or toughest days, when you have someone to share it with. It's very powerful to have an outlet for caring that's really reciprocated. Brief, and sometimes long, phone calls while at work or alone, sharing lunch, chatting and flirting while shopping or driving can be huge day brighteners. These connection times can be great fun, occasionally sensual, and sometimes hugely important. There will also be times when one or both of us needs to work on something and just being on a speaker phone or a headset together, knowing that a special friend is "nearby" can mean a lot.
Well, hopefully, you get the idea. Now, here's some stuff about me that you may find useful to know before deciding whether or not you should reply.
I'm looking for a good person who understands that women and men are different sub-species whose circumstances, like mine, creates a tolerance for considering a relationship that's limited to connecting through the telephone. I'm looking to build a very good friendship over time. If we connect, I expect that we'll want and be able to share most aspects of our lives. I find many things interesting and feel most fortunate to be alive today when so many good things are going on, even while there are still many challenges that need addressing.
Some preconceived ideas about you: feminine, sweet, curious, warm, laughs easily, cares about others, the time most days to connect, and, once trust is established, the capacity to be totally candid and spontaneous. And, you might be of any background or ethnicity.
I'll wrap up for now with a little more about me. I'm an entrepreneurial type that's engaged in a new start-up. I love this country and wish our new President well, as long as he doesn't try to undermine what's made us such an extraordinary nation and a beacon of light to rest of the world. I'm often entertained by movies which I watch while walking on my treadmill [recent treats: "Gran Torino", three Bollywood flicks, "Guru," "Nayagan" and "Slumdog Millionaire," three low budget films with a lot to say: "Taking Chance," "Woman Thou Art Loosed" and "Arranged;" 2 HBO series: "Deadwood" and "Rome" and 3 all time favorites: "Woman in the Dunes, "Quest for Fire" and "Being There"], non-fiction ["The Infidel," Ayan Hirsi Ali's autobiography of an amazing Somali woman, Bill Bennett's 'History of the USA," "My Year Inside Radical Islam" and "Cool It"], community service, politics and baseball. I luckily have 2 great grown kids and a wonderful grandson. That's enough about me for now.
