I'd like to meet some one to do stuff with. A potential traveling companion would be ideal. I'm definitely willing (hoping) to try anything new. But I like adventure.
Currently, I mostly just work. I want to take some time off before deciding on any long term plans, but I was hoping not to do it alone.

Well, doing a "date" the first time you meet someone is crazy. Get coffee or beer or something and chat for a long time. Set up a date after you know what you have in common. Dinner is always good, but save the movie for when you've run out of things to say.
