About Me
Okay, I'm not very good at this sort of thing, so try not to judge me too much without at least trying to get to know me first!
I love to bake and to cook, especially when I have company and I love playing the hostess. After I graduated from high school I moved to San Francisco where I attended the California Culinary Academy for baking and pastry classes. I graduated about a year later with a certificate degree and then moved back home for a few months before moving to Orlando, Florida for two years. I spent a year on the Disney college program and then went to work for a nice hotel called The Peabody Orlando for a year. I moved back home, yet again, for a few months, before moving to Las Vegas close to a year ago. I've been thinking that one day I might like to go back to school and major in psychology, as the human mind is an overly fascinating thing. But for right now, I'm content with my chosen profession.
I'm an avid reader and my favorite authors are Michael Crichton, James Patterson, Dan Brown, John Grisham, and Mercedes Lackey. I've been reading at a college level since I was only eight and back when I actually had the time, it was not uncommon for me to read a book of 300+ pages in about 6 hours. Now, work keeps me pretty busy and I just don't have the time to read like I used to. I'm happiest when I can just curl up with a good book or a movie, a glass of wine and good food, though I'm also perfectly happy when going for a late night swim. I can be pretty easy-going, but I have ADHD, which means I'm hyper and can be kind of loud, but I'm definitely never dull. I'm a bit of a geek; I like to read comics, play video games casually and even do the occasional puzzle, but I also love to go out and get dressed up.
I love music and I'll listen to just about everything, though I flat-out refuse to listen to rap or anything even remotely related to heavy metal. I'm also a huge fan of movies, with a strong preference for comedy and action films. I'm not much of a tv watcher, though I do enjoy shows such as House, NCIS, and all three CSI programs.
I'm a major animal lover and I own two cats. If you do not like cats, then please do not contact me trying to hook up. My cats are my little fuzzball babies and if you have a strong dislike of them, then it's just not going to work out. I used to own bearded dragons (lizards) when I was younger and I intend to own them again in the near future because they are just so cool. Trust me when I say this: I am not one of those squeamish girls who cannot handle frogs and lizards. I LOVE THEM! But I do have two incredibly intense fears that date back to events in my childhood. I am deathly afraid of spiders and roaches, so just a forewarning: if I see one, I will likely scream at deafening decibels. Other than that, bugs don't really bother me.
Interested in learning a couple of unique things about me? Well, for two summers I was a lifeguard at a water park in California and I'm a certified scuba diver. I've done several dives off the coast of California (on one of which I was able to swim with wild sea lions), as well as several in the beautiful waters off of Maui where I was fortunate enough to have endangered giant sea turtles approach me and swim with me. I am currently working on a novel, but working night shifts has basically drained me of all my creativity and I've currently put the project on hold. (Please do not ask me anything about the book as I'm remaining tight-lipped about it and will not share any information at this time.) Family is very important to me and though I was spoiled as a kid, that has not affected how I view the world as an adult. I am responsible and I even plan on looking into buying a house sometime within the next year. Lastly, I've never broken a bone and I've somehow managed to never get stung by a bee (or wasps or any other flying, stinging/biting bug).
One day I hope to be a published author, as writing is one of my favorite things to do. But if that doesn't happen, then I would be content with one day being the executive pastry chef at some fancy hotel/restaurant.
IMPORTANT: I am NOT looking for a one night stand. I'm looking for something that could develop into a serious relationship. I am not easy, so do not expect anything from me until I am ready for something to happen. Treat me with respect. I am not an object for you to use and abuse.
First Date
Dinner and a movie is always a good first date for me. Or you could take me to a nice lunch and then a nature walk to enjoy the beauty that surrounds the city. I'm always up for trying something new so long as it's fun and exciting, so never hesitate to throw an idea by me!
