It's nice to look back a little and see wonderful children that have become beautiful young adults.

It is also refreshing to see life finally look like I've figured out some of the answers, and made some pretty good choices...if I do say so myself.

Even though life continually changes, I am finding it just gets better! When I look in the mirror now, I see a very independent woman looking back...hmmm, where did she come from?

I've begun listening to music again...a lot. Peace and happiness is the absolute rule in my home.

With a little time off work lately, I've been throwing myself into home improvements before the next job needs all my attention.

Yep, I finally attained one of my greatest goals and I now own my own home.. Well, the bank actually owns it, but I now have a mortgage instead of paying someone elses. ;-)

I enjoy helping those I care about achieve their goals. The ones I think I've helped most are, of course, my kids.

I'm not looking for my next husband, but I haven't lost the idea of having companionship again someday. I still think having the door opened for me is sweet... I guess I'm still a little traditional.

Uppermost characteristics that are very important to me are kindness and honesty...(and I practice what I preach)

Although I'm obviously not still in child-bearing years, I think that it is easier to connect with others that have participated in raising children.

I have dedicated much of my adulthood being in service to my children and their well-being. This makes it a little harder to 'jump' back in to my own interests, and I'm hoping to find someone who can understand this aspect of me.

I think that if someone hasn't lived a little of their life (or a lot) for the better of their children, they won't understand what this feels like....

In other words, I haven't been to Hawaii, or out boating, skiing, or all the other wonderful things all the single people do. If finances would have afforded it, I would have most definitely done all those things and shared those experiences with my children. They have, after all, been my best companions and cheering section for the past several years.
.....but, I have been working, cleaning house, carting kids to and from school, and basically holding down the fort.

(I can top off all the fluid levels in my car (and truck), and take them down to get the tires replaced when needed....but....

.... I'd rather cook a nice meal and set a beautiful table, than work on the cars, mow the lawn, organize/clean the garage.... :)...(the guys work)

It has all paid off though, I have the great respect and admiration of my children and family.

Last but not least, there is nothing better than receiving a text from one of your children that simply states..."Mom, you are so very loved, and you are an amazing woman" Yes, this makes me know I've done well and that life is good....;-)

I have to 'learn' how to have fun again.....I need a patient teacher....

Does everybody really do TEN activities.......ALL the time???

Honesty means you can admit that maybe you want to slow down once-in-a-while and just sit on the porch at sunset with that glass of wine...

...maybe then we're on the same page..

P.S. If you need a counselor, or someone you can control, or someone to (mother) and take care of you,

....please know that I'm not the one for you.

Life is busy and I'm content with life just as it is. I don't need that other person to 'complete' me.
But, I do have a warm hand to hold, and can smile you into a good mood anytime....

Now if you've read this far....what's your opinion?

Having not been in the arena of dating lately, I don't remember having to plan them or even give suggestions.
At least not at first.....
.....I've made so many decisions over the past few years....can someone else just please think of something fun to do? I like to be surprised.
I'm also good at planning something surprising on occasion!
