About Me
I've always really been into hockey, watching it that is. Luongo is my favorite, hands down. I would love to start playing again, I had so much fun doing it a couple years ago I just was never really very good at it. I cant stop on the ice! But otherwise I was a pretty good skater. Took me more than a season to finally get my first goal, but I still have the puck. It means a lot to me actually. Kinda corny, but it was just one of those things that you can point to and say, I got this because I never gave up and worked hard for it. Nevermind that it was a pointless goal in a blowout win and the goalie obviously gave up on the play, I scored it!
Also, I play softball with some friends from work, we're not very good, but it's a blast. That is so much fun. At least I can play softball, unlike hockey! I love it though, and I'm so happy that I have friends like these guys.
I've put a lot into my job, and I'm finally starting to see some results. I'm quite happy with where I am and where it seems to be taking me. There is always room for improvement, and I'm always trying to do just that.
I try to be a very understanding and caring person. Everyone has faults though, lets be honest. I hope though that the good qualities outweigh the negative ones in anyone I meet, and I hope they see more good one in me as that's the person I strive to be.
Reading, alright, I like the weird things, from Bill Bryson (he has so many books mostly travel books, and they're always funny, yes, even the travel books) to Matthew Good (yes, THE Matt Good, he has a book of very disturbing short stories). Right now I'm enjoying Tucker Max's "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell." Classy. Alright, it's not, but at least its a riot.
My taste in music? Its pretty eclectic. Right now I'm really into the new Metric album. But I like tonnes of different bands, like Matthew Good, Weezer, Foo Fighters and many different genres, hip hop, rock, alternative. You name it, I'm sure I would like it.
My problem with meeting people is that I think we all try to put our best foot forward, whereas it would do everyone a lot of good if we just show who we really are right away. Why hide that you're a chocolate fiend? I'm only going to find out in a couple months anyways! So I'll start first, I'm addicted to licking batteries, it makes me feel alive. Joking! Honestly though, I do think I can be a hopeless romantic though, if you've ever seen "How I met Your Mother" I feel like I would be more likely to make the same mistake that Ted made in the first episode when on a date with Robin than most guys. If you haven't seen it, that's probably for the best only because its kinda embarrassing! I feel like I connect with the Ted character quite a bit on his stance of love and women, and I just want what Marshall and Lilly have, like Ted. If you haven't seen the show, you're missing out.
I feel as if its important that we click or else no one will be happy in the long run. That's just me though, or maybe it's just this really sappy Michael Buble album I'm listening to though.
First Date
I'm not too sure, something that both of us would be comfortable doing. Just getting to know each other I think it's important that both of us are in a comfort zone. Something simple like a coffee, walk around the sea wall downtown, a light dinner and maybe dessert at my favorite of all dessert places. I know of a place that has this terrific homemade ice cream which comes in a giant martini glass. Its pretty cool.
