I'm an independent, outgoing guy, a musician and writer. I'm fairly casual; can do the suit and tie thing, but jeans and T-shirt is fine too.

I like going out to eat (sushi and Thai are favorites), catching live music, or just having a few beers with friends. Just generally like to socialize and have fun. Not much of a partier anymore.

I was born in Texas, but grew up in southern Maryland, and traveled all over: Boston for awhile, San Diego, Denver, New York, now back again. I feel at home at avant garde clubs in NY or country bars here. But I'm settled back here agan.

I'm looking for someone honest, funny, intelligent, and affectionate, but also want chemistry -- that early kind in a relationship, where it is palpable; it can be built over time, but that's what it's all about. I'm not perfect by any means. But I don't judge and do find the good in everyone.

I prefer bluntness to a fault. Not rudeness, just plain-spoken truth. I don't think the truth can ever hurt (well, at least in the long run), unless it's delivered maliciously. That's a whole other issue. I want to get beyond the superficial layer most people put up, be able find what someone's really about.

Along those lines, I have three kids and am just looking for someone mature, looking for normalcy in life.

I have no real preconceived notion. Prefer to be spontaneous and just get to know the person I'm with. Could do a southern Maryland laid back kind of thing. You know: beer, crabs, talking the day away. or just coffee, a short hike/walk, maybe a band or DJ downtown. Nothing too loud though....
