I'm an upbeat, self-starter that doesn't wait for life to happen. I value friendships and know they deserve attention. I'm happiest when I’m with my friends. Moderate political involvement has always been a part of my liberal life. I've been told I have a great sense of (typically wry) humor and a warm smile that lights up a serious face.

For 40 years I've enjoyed organic gardening: vegetables, herbs and flowers. I love to eat out and enjoy ethnic foods; I also enjoy preparing meals from my garden. While I cook, I frequently dance to sixties and Latin music. I enjoy attending concerts (classical, various instrumental and voice, and dance) and exercise daily with and without my dog.

I was twice nominated fan of the year of our minor league baseball team.
