Well, here I go writing what is, in effect, a commercial about myself. It is not quite so easy as it first would appear to be. Perhaps it’s obligatory at this point to state the obvious: yes, I like fine restaurants and wines and sharing them with someone special (and) long hikes in the woods, holding hands, silent moments and making love. Who doesn’t enjoy these things? Why would I be here if I didn’t? I believe that everyone wants that “someone special” in their lives, even if they won’t step up to the plate and admit it.
I do believe that every relationship is unique and has a life of it’s own, (it will be what it will be, so to speak), you cannot push or pull it into being anything other than what it is. Which is a rather obtuse way of stating that I would take it as far as it goes, no games, I won’t say “I care” if I don’t, I won’t say “I don’t care” if I do. I am loyal, and believe in loyalty, and I’m not a quitter. I’m open to anything from a night to a lifetime.
A sense of humour is very important to me. My own tends to be dry, noir, iconoclastic, (many times not “politically correct”) and sometimes, obscure. My politics have a rather pronounced leftward tilt, although I buy nobody’s “party line”. My interests tend to be eclectic; photography, music, history, broadcasting, reading, railroads, fine red wines,gardening, electronics and woodworking, to name some. I love animals and have two cats.
If you’ve gotten this far, perhaps it’s time for a e-mail. One caveat: I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so: NO PICTURE, NO REPLY.

Everyone, and every encounter, is different. I want you to be comfortable; that way we can both relax and honestly know what we have to offer each other. First dates can be awkward. The Internet may be the dating paradigm of the 21st century, yet I must admit that I would much prefer the “some enchanted evening/you may see a stranger/across a crowded room” method.
