I'm an impulsive, outgoing, creative, femme, voluptuous, city girl, on the lower end of plus-sized (size 16/18), so if you're in the market for a sporty girl or an outdoorsy activity partner, then I'm probably not really your type.
I appreciate intellect, humour, creativity, passion, open-mindedness, and a sense of individuality -- people who don't limit themselves, who don't fit into a neat little box, and who aren't afraid to show a little personality! The ability to carry on a good conversation is essential. Honesty is also vital. I'm upfront, very direct, intense and passionate about life. You won't need to decipher my moods or what I say for hidden meanings, I say what's on my mind.
I don't believe that any relationship should require losing your personal identity -- we all have lives, unique interests, and needs which should be respected. While I consider myself to be fairly independent, I don't do well with absentee or long-distance relationships of any kind -- it doesn't seem unreasonable to ask people to invest a bit of effort, time, and communication.
Some random stuff about me: My ethnic background is a mix of Austrian, Italian & German; I speak a bit of German (although not very well); I have dual German-Canadian citizenship, but was born and raised in Canada (lived in the GVRD all my life). I have an artistic side which I don't nurture as often as I should -- I draw when inspired, and I previously studied 3D computer animation and art (not my current career or ambition).
Weird fact: bunnies can kill me...no I'm not kidding, ask me to tell you that story sometime ; )
Film & TV: My top movies include Amelie, Equilibrium, The Butterfly Effect, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, Children of Men, and probably others which slip my mind at the moment. As for TV, generally I don't waste much time in front of it...makes me wonder why I pay for cable at all. Dexter is one of the few series which I occasionally make time for, a gruesome but rather unique premise & worth checking out.
Music: In general, I enjoy a pretty eclectic variety of musical styles, with an emphasis on alternative rock and punk. I'm NOT generally a fan of rap, hip-hop, or country (however there are always a few exceptions to any rule). I like to check out live gigs and local bands on occasion, but I'm not much of a dancer and tend to shy away from the pretentiousness of the club scene.

Sharing conversation while enjoying something spicy or something chocolate would be a perfect first meeting. Catching a flick, theatre or live music is best saved for later, once we know each other a bit better ; )
