I donate blood and apheresis to the red cross. Apheresis are platlets which are separated from the blood and plasma. They cannot be frozen like blood and plasma. This puts them in high demand. I have a platlet count that is above normal. They get triple the amount from me. So, they are always calling me. It takes 2 hours hooked up to a machine, with needles in both arms. You cannot move. I always get an itch some where and can't scratch it. lol. I donated granulites one time. They made a match with me and a 4 year old boy in the hospitle with luekemea. It really felt good to know that part of my body was going strate to this little boy to help make him better. My blood is tested a lot and I know that I'm healthy.
I stay fit by walking and swimming. I grew up across the street from Lake Erie and I'm a fish in the water. The Niagara river is my favorite swim spot. I like swimming in fast current.
I took shark for my personality after a very close encounter with one while snorkeling. He snuck up on me when I was resting while floating in the waters of the coral reef in the Keys. The shark was shoulder to shoulder with me. I always had wondered what it would be like to see a shark in the water. He was about 6 foot long, the same size of myself. It was very cool that he was just hanging out with me. I had no idea that a shark could look so beautiful. The shape and the colors were amazing. He did not move until I tried to pet him.
