Long time due for an update(Feb2009)... Well I've been on this site for almost 3 years now.. And yes, I said still on this site. Where are you hiding?

Here are some of my views about online dating which I have posted over the years. Trying to norrow down my search. Beware, some might be offended but it's not my intention. Just being honest about how I feel and what I'm looking for. Good thing about online dating, we can do that, cause my goal is not to impress all of you, but just one of you...

Ok, few things I have noticed about this thing.. Alot of women complain about men posting pics of their chess, or without shirts on. You won't see it from me, but who are we to judge others? There's alot of women with pics in bikini's, do you see us complaining? hehehe

Distance, although I have chatted with some very nice women living some distance away, I have found out that it's not for me. I get too frustrated with being able to make arrangements, and if it would work out, then what? Unless you own a helicopter and can come see me when ever we feel we want to see each other, it's probably not going to work out. So try to be close. To me, Downtown TO is too far. If I have to drive more than 45 minutes, not for me.. There is a reason why I live 3.5km from work. I love going for rides, but I want to do it when I feel like it, not because I have to. Enough about the distance, I think I just knocked out about 30 people who had me on their favorites list...

Talking about favorites list. I do understand that sometimes you have to add someone to start IM. And we all know that IM does not always work on this. Fair enough, try a couple times, if you can reach me, then email me. I understand people are sometime busy, take a quick look and find someone they would like to get in touch so add to favorites cause no time to email right now. That's fine, I do it too. but if you had me on your list for 2 weeks, have never said a word. that's border like stalking and freeking. I have no filters, I am not blocking anyone, so don't be shy to say hi. If I have you on my list, and I have not said hi within a week, it's probably cause you have a filter stopping me from emailing you. If your IM is disabled, then don't hesitate to say hi first, I will probably be very happy to respond.

Pictures.... ok, you've seen mine, I'd like to see yours too.. If I email you and you delete or ignore my IM within 30 seconds, who are we kidding, you did not base your decision on reading my profile but on looking at my pics. Therefore it should be fair that you have one too. We are in 2009, if you know how to create a dating profile, don't try to make me believe you don't have a scanned picture of yourself. I think everyone should have at least a close up shot and a full body shot. Yes looks are important to everyone, and the perception of thin, athletic, average, few extra pounds is different for everyone. I have seen some average women looking much better than thin women(In my eyes). If you don't want to post a pic because of your career, understandable, but your private life is yours and everyone should be allowed one no mather what career they have. Bottom line, if you have a online profile, you should have some pics to share, I'm in IT and a technology guy, if you don't have any, you're probably not impressing me too much right now.. ;-)

What are you looking for.. Long term, dating, hang out, intimate, etc...
I have met some women saying looking for long term, but then they tell you, I just got out of a relationship and I'm not ready for one. Is it me the problem? If so, just say it. Don't try to be nice, It's alot nicer to be honest than to try to be nice. If you're not ready for a relationship, what are you doing on a dating and meeting site? A friend pushed you into it? Little advice, don't walk on the side of a bridge with that friend, they might push you in.. lol.. Don't get me wrong, I've just recently met someone who told me she was not ready. But her profile says she's looking for hang out. I totally respect that and she let me know from the start. I'm looking for long term, but there's no problem with making friends and doing something fun until I find what it is I'm looking for.

Smokers... ok, to me there is no such thing as occasional smokers.. I sail 2 to 3 times a week, so I consider myself a sailor, not an "occasional sailor". So if you smoke more than I sail, then I would consider you a smoker. And unfortunetly, I have experienced it(dating a smoker), and you could be the most beautiful woman in the world, it's just not for me. So if I flirt with you and you're a smoker, please just remind me that you are and set me back on track.. ;-)

Kids, I do love kids and want some in due time. So if you're intentions are not to have kids, again we are not a good match. If you have some, one is ok as I've done it before(dating someone with a kid) and it was one of the best experience of my life. She was my little angel and yes, she is the one I blocked her face in the pic. Even after 6 years of breaking up, I still see her from time to time. If you have 2, it could be hard but I could consider it, more than 2, I don't think we would be a good match.. Sorry.. I understand this is a very delicate subject but it's just who I am.. If I'm going to be on the net to look for someone, I might as well look for my perfect match, not just someone to settle with...

One last thing, my career requires me to travel around the world 50% of the time. If it's something you're not ready to accept, I am sorry. For now, I have the opportunity to see the world and it's perfect for me since I am single. If I find someone and it becomes serious, my career plan will probably change as family is my priority in life. But until then, I am enjoying my life.

Ok, I'm done for today.. ouffff.. that felt good.. I think I probably just eliminated about 95% of people on this website. lol
