About Me
I should probably just be 100% honest with you.
I’ve just finished my post doctorate in theoretical physics (BA in Sociology), and am currently employed by Black Mesa research institute (Large grocery retailer) working on developing top secret orbital-platform weaponry (various process improvement projects) as the head of the experimental technologies division (senior analyst and project coordinator).
Typically I have something very elaborate and detailed posted here. It helps me stand out from the half-clothed, muscle-flexing, car-posing men that occupy the site and often message you about meeting them for coffee and sex (or maybe they can just get a rain check on the coffee?). It may disappoint you to know that I will not be providing any of the above. And I apologize in advance.
The reality is very simple. I’ve moved my belongings (I didn’t have that many to begin with) to Mississauga and found myself a job that I adore. It’s satisfying, challenging, and different every day. It’s a position with potential, and with freedom, and for the first time in over three years, I love going to work (on most days – I am human you know). It’s the first few steps towards where I’d like to be in my career. I’m 100% self sufficient and am enjoying all the ups and downs that come with that.
Who am I? I’m a stable, self aware, analytical, artistic, imaginative, rational, emotional, intellectual fellow. I’m also technically an introvert, but I bet I could fool you. When I’m not being exploited for the surplus value of my labour, I’m reading, writing, photographing, managing, biking, hiking, feeding and perhaps even from time to time, dreaming. If you were to look up a Pisces, I pretty much match the description. I’m also an INTP for you Myers-Briggs enthusiasts. A few quick examples of my behaviour:
- I will walk the street, and stop in mid stride, only to back up a few paces and snap a photo down an alley way. - I marvel at the simple things I encounter, and will extol the virtues of a raindrop or the reflection in a shop window. - I will disassemble something to its component parts and rebuild it to see how it works. This applies to a computer as much as it applies to macro socio-economic concepts. - I adore learning. And while I no longer participate regularly in structured classes, I will absorb whatever interests me from wherever I can find it. - If I was to have one single accomplishment come from my life, I’d like to develop the ‘unified theory of everything’. I know. But I try anyways… - I have a 'zombie contingency' plan. (do you REALLY want to be thinking about THAT at the last minute?! ;)
I have often in the past given a list of traits which I enjoy in a female, however I think we’ll try this page without any prerequisites. I suspect you’ll know if we’d get along after you’re done reading. I’ll leave the doors open, how’s that?
So why am I here? Not all that certain. Looking for friends to explore the city? Absolutely. A photography partner? Definitely. But am I looking for a significant other? Undecided. I certainly wouldn’t rule it out. But I won’t be hunting one down and dragging her back to my cave. I’m not ready to make too many concessions just yet, so friends are a great start (and it’s the best one in my opinion). The romantic in me hopes to stumble across a fantastic match for me, but I’m also not holding my breath.
If this sounds at all familiar, then I recommend you get in touch. Then again, I hope you knew that’s how this thing worked.
--Short on Conversation Starters?-- 1) The concept of Romance 2) The ingredients I really want to get for my cooking 3) Photography 4) A 300 word message inspired by the first noun on page 17 of the nearest book.
