Hi, thanks for dropping by…

Everyday, genuine and sincere, Single guy here, looking at making friends mostly but I am also hoping to meet somebody special for a long term relationship. Somebody to walk along the beach with hand in hand, to cuddle up to when at home, enjoy days out, to share lifes ups and downs, to laugh and cry with and generally to spend quality time with, be there for each other.

I moved to Bridlington from Derby some years ago to rescue a relationship but that never worked out and been single now for quite a while, living in a private rented house along with my near 10yr old son who is, in every sense of the word, my world, fiercely defensive towards him and he is the light of my life, NOT baggage and the only good thing to come out of a long, long relationship with his mother...I am not seeking a replacement mum for him though, (he has one) and I do not need a cleaner or housemaid, (I can do all the domestic chores myself and happy to) but I do get to feeling lonely at times and would like to share days/ nights in and out with somebody that is caring, affectionate and sincere and who wants to be with me for me…Somebody to spend time with yet retain our independence, not looking for anybody to devote their whole self and time to me, just what time we both are happy with as been single long enough to still want ‘my time’…at least for now and accept you will want your own space too. I do not want to control you and will always very much respect you have your own life, wanting only to be a part of it and not take it away from you.

My last relationship took me 18yrs to escape from and still I was not the one to let it go so a devoted and dedicated guy, a one woman man looking for a one man woman. An easy going guy with a GSOH, likes most things and easy going..sometimes shy but told good company, that’ll be for you to discover though innit?
I am a caring, affectionate person and do not ‘play the field’ A very dedicated, faithful guy, (traits of mine that I am proud of and why wouldn’t I be?) Not so many fellas about that could boast the same.

Pet hates….

Absolutely cannot abide condescending folk who just don't know when enough is enough, grrr, had that and wonder just how far up their own a##e they really are!!

I dislike liars, especially pointless lies when the truth would have done/been better…(a good liar must have a great memory and not everybody has such a good memory) so tell the truth. I will.

People that say they have done something and have not, or that they will do something and do not intend to do so.

I dislike judgemental people, (we all have a past and have made mistakes, I certainly have) so do not judge me as I shall not judge you…(“first stone” & “judge not lest ye be judged” and all that twaddle). Constructive criticism being the exception.

Cannot stand overly cynical people or un neccessary sarcasm and snide remarks..(even if I don't acknowledge them they won't go un noticed!!)

On a lighter note..I do not like chilli, water cress, cold tea, warm beer or spinach. I detest the sight and smell of poo, (in any form) lol, am nervous around dogs, (yes I have been bitten, enough times), people who hog the middle lane, tourists that stop in front of me and start pointing, almost taking my eye out, seagulls that have no regard for where they ‘dump their load’ when flying above me, lol (that’ll teach me not to live at the seaside) actually dislike very little else but I’ve lost interest now!!

Being a very ‘easy to please’ guy, liking most things and I have an eclectic taste when it comes to music, liking anything from the late 50’s to date (though the 1980’s would be the decade I favour)..Music really is something I love and can relate every mood to a song past or present and I ‘listen’ to the sounds as well as hear them so very into music but not a clubber or dancer and cannot stand r’n’b, rap and that style of sounds.

Respect and accept me for who I am as I will always respect and accept you for who you are. Treat me as you would wish to be treated yourself and we will get along famously. Ian xx
