Kudos (whatever that means) to whomever can tell me how I got the idea for my headline. It shouldn't be too hard if you're familiar with bands from Athens ;)

Note: If I add you to my favorites, it means that I will get around to contacting you eventually. This isn't, after all, like some other sites that I'm sure you're familiar with. While my schedule isn't very demanding right now (it's summer, and I teach high school), I still have other commitments such as to my family and to my band and my church. Also, I try to put a lot of thought into a message when I write it. This is your first impression of me besides my profile, you know. Sometimes, especially when someone doesn't write a lot in her profile, it can take me a while to decide just what to say. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't always message me first, should you feel that the appropriate course of action to take.

Reasons why I'm cool:

-I am who I am. Not much else to it.
-I'm proud of my accomplishments and my experiences, be they ever so grand or humble.
-I talk to strangers.
-I can write a profile without using textspeak or all caps.
-I can write a profile without whining incessantly about how unfair dating is or how I've been rejected and mistreated by other women.
-When I drive, I get lost on purpose just to see if I can find my way back.
-I like shiny things, dark humor, wordplay, classic novels, and video games.
-I think too much.
-I'm a guy, yet I like to cook and I try to keep things fairly clean.
-I'm housebroken.
-I'm pretty young, but I have a college degree, a well-paying job, I own my own house, and my truck's paid off.
-I'm in a band.
-I'm the bass player.
-I teach high school.
-I write poetry.
-I study relationships and psychology as a hobby.
-I sometimes forget to shave.
-I love and respect my mother.
-I learn from my mistakes.
-I learn from other people's mistakes.
-I'm low maintenance.
-I believe that everybody has their good qualities. Within every person is something to be admired and something to be improved upon.
-I believe in personal responsibility. I also believe that there's not enough of it in the world. My mistakes in life are my own fault, and I don't expect anyone to clean up any of my messes. I also don't expect to clean up anyone else's.
-I prefer natural beauty to someone who looks like something made out of plastic and botox.
-Girls with glasses drive me nuts.
-Confident girls do, too(I see confidence as both a physical and psychological quality).
-I think smart girls are sexy. As are girls who know what they want out of life.
-My brother is a cancer survivor, and though he gets on my nerves, I'm proud of him.

A first date is for learning. I want to see the real you and I want you to see the real me.

No fancy restaurants, because I can never be myself in one. I think that it would be best in a place like the Waffle House. Or if that's not you're thing, then anywhere else where we can relax without always having to keep up appearances. For instance, if I see that you're treating the waitress like you're better than her, then maybe you're not the one for me. Then again, if you take things with an open mind when they go wrong or are less than pretty, that tells me about your personality, too. I've often learned more about a person wandering around through walmart with them than I have on even the longest date with that person, and those experiences generally cover how I view dating.
