I've been described by my friends as an intelligent, engaging guy with a big heart. Like so many of us, I've been unlucky in love, but I still hope to find the right woman with whom to share my life. Yes, I like moonlight walks on the beach, good conversation over a bottle of wine, and other fine things. But I'm looking for something deeper - the kind of relationship where two people complement and strengthen each other. I have my share of baggage, but it doesn't take up much space.
I'd love to start a family, if I find the right woman. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be happy with someone who already has children, or who doesn't wish to start a family.
I'm attracted to caring, intelligent, considerate, professional women, near my age or younger. Curiosity and a sense of adventure are also welcome. I'm attracted to openness, intelligence and straightforwardness.
I like hockey, love baseball, enjoy staying in on rainy days and cooking like mad. (No gourmet stuff. Just the basics.) I prefer Film Noir to Adam Sandler, and anything to Sci-Fi/Gory Horror. My musical tastes are all over the map: The Stones, Chet Baker, AC/DC, Everything but the Girl (which I should probably title this profile), Springsteen, Steely Dan, Swing Out Sister and Traffic, to name a few. (And not necessarily in order of importance.)
I was born and raised in Montreal and still work there. I split my time between the city and my house (currently under renovations) in Eastern Ontario. I get to Ottawa as often as I can, as I truly like the city. I work odd hours, though, which means I have loads of free time during the day but am too often unavailable in the evenings -- which also makes it tough to socialize. There are always the weekends, though!

Anything from chatting over a cup of coffee to seeing a comic or a bar band to dashing off on a road trip to sample an out-of-the-way restaurant. No extreme sports, thanks, but a bicycle ride -- even a hike -- would be fine, too. I can always be coaxed out for a good meal or a drink -- but then, who can't?
