Before I start, I'd like to respond to everyone who wrote about my age. Yes, I am 50, and my main profile picture was taken on my 50th birthday in the summer of 2009.

I'm a citizen of the world. Born in Italy, raised in Montreal, well-traveled, and interested in all aspects of humanity. I'm a free thinker, a pacifist and an optimist. I love the world and everything good thing in it. My hope is to leave this world as good as or better than when I entered it.

I am passionate, intense, compassionate, responsible, fun to be with, and all that good stuff. I am fortunate because I lack nothing and I have exceptionally high morals and values. I enjoy my life, with its ordinary and extraordinary experiences, and while I feel that I have grown wiser with time, I feel absolutely no regrets. I'm at peace with myself and with the world, and simply live one day at a time. I am a vegetarian with all the lifestyle that entails, and live with 2 really funny cats. Live entertainment!

One of my many varied interests is Etymology. The power of words always fascinated me, from the time I started reading. I stay informed about local and global issues and have strong opinions but I am very open minded, and will listen to any valid point. I make no judgment on anyone, because it's not my place to, nor do I wish to be judged.

I love to dance, it's my exercise, meditation, my time out from the world, and it's as natural as breathing for me. Music fills my world, from Maria Callas to Bob Dylan and everything in between (except country but Willie Nelson is great). TOTAL silence is also something I enjoy enormously.

I'm not conceited but I enjoy my own company very much.

It would be so nice to meet a great guy who would enjoy my company too, and vice-versa.

Things that make me want to scream:

LIES - any lie, especially: AGE and Children.
a) If you look in your 60's, why say you're 40? If we do meet, how do you think that will go?
b) If you have grown children, you're still a parent. Why say you have no kids? Are you ashamed? Think about it.

It's not about looks or vanity, it's something else altogether. If the chemistry is there, the possibilities are infinite.

Someone who is easy going, kind, considerate, classy, nonjudgemental, independent, not demanding, who wants to share quality time because we both really want to.
