About Me
Looking for a friend/lover/companion. Someone to walk & talk or hike with would be great!! I'd like someone who is physically and emotionally available, will love me for my mind, not my body but would rather play with my body, not play with my mind. Seems like a pretty simple concept....easy to grasp =). Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation. For every person you meet who has that spark of genius there are thousands more walking around with ignition problems. I enjoy the company of someone who has a sense of humor and understands my warped one. ; ). Someone who can laugh at themselves - I don't think anyone should take themselves too seriously. I'm a pretty happy person. That doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It just means that I've decided to look beyond the imperfections. We all have things for which to be grateful. I don't need someone to "complete" me. I look at it as icing on the cake. I'm a huge Bears fan, I prefer a pub to a club, my political views lean more towards the liberal crowd and I'm truly excited that we finally have an intelligent, articulate president..... he can even pronounce and spell "intelligent & articulate". I like lots of different music, except for rap and really really heavy headbanging metal. Everything from Sarah MacLachlan to Van Halen, Frank Sinatra to Sublime, Stevie Ray Vaughn to Clannad, Eric Clapton to Etta James, Ted Nugent to Nickelback. I love, love, love Jack Johnson and Van Morrison....well, I think you get the idea. I look forward to finding someone to slow dance with.....I haven't done that in ages. It would be nice. Addendum: Just to save time, I'll add here that I prefer dating non-smokers (kind of a big thing with me). I'm not being ****y, just being honest. I prefer meeting single men. I'd rather have my own to play with, not someone else's. Thanks for respecting my wishes. =). If you're looking for someone to accompany you to church, I'm probably not your girl. Yes I was raised Catholic but I don't attend church anymore. I lean more towards good karma rather than misguided dogma. I believe there is more than one road to the Divine. I haven't had good luck dating people who aren't fairly "local" (actually I haven't had good luck dating at all!! lol) so I tend to avoid that frustration now. And, I'm not Mrs Robinson. She died a couple of years ago. but thanks for your interest! Rent the DVD if you want to experience an "older woman". The Graduate is a great movie!. And, I'm actually 54 (cr*p, I just had a birthday, it's 55 now) years old. I was told (by a male friend) that nobody would see my profile if I put my true age here. Yes, the pictures are all fairly recent. So if it's a problem, I guess I won't hear from you. But at least I made ya look ; )
First Date
a first date..hmmmmm. that's pretty open. Meet for coffee. Dinner.......drinks? maybe a movie? Or a walk on the bike path. Orrrrrr.......I've never been to a Bears game. yea..........it was a stretch. ok....ummm....Jersey Boys in Chicago???? I'm getting colder, aren't I? ok.... back to the coffee idea. keep it simple ;)
