About Me
I'm an easy-going guy who is looking for an easy-going girl. I most value integrity, humor, and wit, but many other things as well.
I'm really looking for one to share my thoughts, ideas, and world with - one with whom I can appreciate the nuances of life, who I can be myself around, one who knows me, whom I can speak to without words, who will dream with me, and live this dream with me. I'm also looking to make friends, because decent people aren't exactly a ubiquitous commodity.
If I had to briefly encapsulate my essence with some string of (what I think are) homogeneously-conceptualized words/phrases, I suppose I would call myself a thinker, a dreamer, a watcher (I like to analyze things/people), a tinkerer, an artist, and a linguist. And yes, for those with that sort of sense of humor, I'm cunning too ;). I am an honest, good-natured person and value this as the prime criterion in choosing who to keep company with.
My interests are listed above, so I shant duplicate them. I'm into a healthy lifestyle, which means healthy eating and exercise. I like to jog and work out, and think it would be nice to have some more people to expand my outdoor activities with. I love nature and want to strengthen my connection with it. I also do love my time indoors, and have no problem making fun in such a setting.
Additional miscellanea:
I am part German, Finnish, Romanian, Russian and Polish; that is my heritage, since I was born an American. Religion has never held a part in my life, but this doesn't mean I'm not spiritual. I don't see myself as a materialistic person... objects are generally not important to me, or I suppose I should say they don't supersede the intangibles, but of course I can value their beauty like anyone else. What else? I suppose you'll have to ask to find out more... looking forward to hearing from you interesting people (oh this should be really humorous for someone who thinks like I do). I find a lot of people to be really shallow, so please have a sense of character: honor, integrity, etc. If you balk at my saying most people seem to be a bit deficient here, chances are you are too, but I dare not jump to any conclusions; proceed if you know yourself otherwise, which also means you're not offended at such a hesitance on my part, and may even identify with this.
Currently I'm studying Japanese on my own and am looking for others who are passionate about learning as well. Anata wa watashi to issyo ni nihongo o benkyou-sitai ka.
First Date
A simple activity in a public setting both to make us feel comfortable and allow for momentary d[e/is]traction from each other if need be is a good start. Something to act as a crutch while we get to know each other. Dinner and a trip to the bookstore/coffee shop (though, haha, I don't drink coffee) or to the beach afterwards is a classic, though not necessarily the most entertaining or creative idea. Anything deviant from the basics, I think, depends on one's company, so this would be decided at the time. I'm up for anything, but gravitate more towards activities that accentuate the person I'm with than the activity itself. For the one, we will not dance to the typical tune.
