| | Important notes concerning two of my answers in the section above:
#1--Body Type: I HATE the term "BBW" and refuse to use it. However, given what I read in the fora here on POF, many would say that is the correct designation for me, since I want to lose more than ten or fifteen pounds. Just so you know, I am not a beach ball--I still have an hourglass figure, it just has more sand in it than I'm comfortable with. ;) I am working on getting back to my "fighting weight" , but a combination of an underactive thyroid (which is being addressed, finally) and the aftereffects of a knee surgery gone wrong have made my efforts move slower than I would like. If that bothers you, I am not the person for you, nor are you the person for me. Now, if you thought "What this wonderful woman needs is a good man who will help her incorporate more fun, frequent, strenuous physical exertion into her life," maybe we should talk.
#2--Do you want children?--I've changed my answer from "does not" to "open" to be more accurate, given the limited selection of answers from which to choose. To clarify, if you have children, that's ok. I just won't be producing anymore. So, if you had children later in life, or are somewhat younger than I and still raising them, I have no prejudice against those who are still parenting. I love kids, and feel blessed that I still have a very active role in my grown children's lives and am able to help raise my four grandchildren, even though we no longer live under the same roof in a multi-generational extended family household.
Now back to our regularly scheduled profile:
I'm an intelligent, sensual, zaftig NeoPagan woman who enjoys camping, fishing, dancing 'round the fire to the drums' primal beat, rain on tin roofs, designing costumes, and so much more. I'm not averse to having a longterm relationship, but I'm not desperately seeking one. I'd like to meet someone who shares my love of nature, my spiritual/religious connection to Her, my curiosity about this beautiful planet we live on, and my passionate longing to find ways to leave it a better place for having been here.
Unless children and dogs run in fear from you, I'm much more interested in your personality and attitudes toward life than your outer wrapper. The only physical requirement I have is cleanliness. I myself don't (yet) have a picture posted and am debating whether to or not. Why don't I? Which of the following do YOU think is/are the reason(s)?
1) Cameras are soul stealers.
2) I'm extremely hideous.
3) I'm a technological klutz and haven't gotten my 13 y.o. cousin or 8 y.o. granddaughter to post it for me yet.
4) I'm really a world-famous personality and don't want to have to deal with all that adulation.
5) It's hard to get a decent picture off the copy machine--that bright light keeps making me close my eyes. And that cover thingy gets caught in my hair.
6) I'm curious to see how many people are willing to get to know me even minimally before having to know what I look like.
7) The dog ate my picture.
I'm looking to meet new friends and expand my horizons. Maybe we'll click and more will develop, maybe it won't. But if we get to know and like each other as friends with common interests, who knows? And if we don't find that pop and sizzle with each other, maybe with my friend or your cousin or ....
Since this site lets you choose only one category, I chose "Dating" because it was closest to my primary intent. But as I said above, I don't rule out a relationship developing. Friends are always a good thing. If you're near enough, someone of like mind/interests looking for a (non-romantic) activity/hang out partner would also be welcome. And I have an interest in e-mail chats, especially from areas outside my own and from other Pagan/Pagan-friendly/Magickal people.
With that in mind, I have removed the restrictions on who may contact me. So now I need to tell you about some of what I had blocked, to save us all time and trouble.
Who I do NOT want to hear from are people looking only for intimate encounters. I prefer my intimacy within a relationship. "Intimate strangers" is an oxymoron.
I don't want anyone in another relationship contacting me concerning a date or possible "other" relationship. I am polytheistic, not polyamorous.
I am not interested in hearing from any of you good Christian folk out there who ONLY want to tell me about Jesus so I can be saved.
If you are a tobacco user (exception--occasional sacred ritual use), our relationship will never progress beyond friendship due to my severe allergy/sensitivity triggering asthma.
If you are old enough to be my father, or young enough to be my son, you would have to be some incredible person to interest me in more than a platonic friendship.
I am not blocking these and others because of the possibility that someone listed under those categories might like to contact me as a friend, Pagan, etc. Please respect these parameters.
If you'd like to know more about me, first check out my forum postings--I believe the forums give a good idea about people, much moreso than their profiles, which are basically advertisements. At the current time, I'm mostly here for the forums, as the vast majority that I've been interested in live too far away to make dating, much less developing a relationship, feasible. But I'd love to be proven wrong....
BTW, as with many others on this site, my IM does not work here. Email if you want to communicate. I spend significant time in the woods with no computer, but do check as soon as I return to "civilization" and I will answer all except those who are insulting/soliciting sex/do not write more than "u seem fun u wanna talk."

First dates are so varied--and sometimes scary! Ideally, we'd plan an outdoor activity, maybe meeting in a park for a picnic lunch. We'd sit and talk face to face for the first time, instead of email & phone. We'd walk and enjoy the sights and sounds. If everything goes well, the day will just go on and on. When we realize we're hungry and there is no more picnic food left, we'll decide where to go from there, and what to do with the rest of the evening. Maybe even better would be to meet at a festival, where we could spend as much time as we wanted over the course of the weekend getting to know each other better, while having the safety net of lots of people around and activities to choose from so that neither of us feels pressured. |
