Thanks for getting this far and reading my profile.

I'm here to meet someone special and start having a full and varied social life again. Apart from a couple of short term relationships, I've been single since 2000 and have no ties or baggage.

I enjoyed bringing up the kids on my own after their mother moved out and am proud of them now they are grown up and doing well. Both have flown the nest and I'm finding the empty house is taking a bit of getting used to. No footsteps upstairs, no slamming doors, no weird music, it's all a bit strange! I didn't realise I'd miss them quite so much.

My son bought his own house here in Blackpool a while ago and my daughter moved to Bristol to live and work after graduating from UWE university.

I enjoy cooking, nights in, nights out, weekends away, hot sunny holidays abroad etc... I just need to inject a bit of fun back into my life by sharing things with someone nice that I care about.

I consider myself to be good company, I am generous, reliable, honest, trustworthy, genuine, loyal and faithful. (But then I would say that, wouldn't I?!)

As for music, my collection is quite varied, but top of my list of favourite bands are definitely The Beatles followed closely by Pink Floyd. I love music, there is a hi-fi system in every room in my house, I even have a juke box!

I have a guitar and a piano, both of which give me great pleasure. I'll put on a CD and attempt to learn and play along. I'm not very good on either, but I suppose I must be getting better the more I play. I just really enjoy it!

(One thing before I go... why do some people still insist on leaving a picture off their profile? Worse still, why put up group pictures, pictures with kids or pictures of pets?)

A pub or restaurant is hopefully a good venue where we can natter and get to know a bit more about each other. I'm ok with flowing conversation which should help to ease any first date nerves.
