I can't believe I am doing this but after being single for about a year (after ending a long-term relationship) I am ready to jump back into the dating scene - so here I am. I thought I would try this and see how things go. I will be honest, this whole online dating thing is just so scary to me! I have one son and even though he has been my whole life, he is becoming more independent. I find that I now have more time to think about myself and my future. I am a romantic at heart and know that my soulmate must still be out there. I am giving, loyal, down-to-earth and fun to be around. The type of man I would like to meet would be down-to-earth and have a sense of humor. I just want a nice, fun guy who is kind of laid back and fun to be around. I love to go out for a nice dinner and dancing but just as happy staying in, renting a movie and getting take-out.

Some ideas for a first date are: dinner, wine and good conversation and maybe some dancing afterwards; lunch; local lounge for a drink ; meet for coffee at Starbucks or even a nice cup of cappucino somewhere.
