Although I am non-religious, meaning that I am not a regular attendee of church services, I try to treat everyone with respect, kindness and honesty. Being recently divorced after 23 years of marriage, and being retired, I am looking to enjoy my retirement and rest of my life. I claim that I am not looking for anything permanent in a relationship for now, but those could become famous last words, in the right situation. I am looking for a casual relationship/friendship that could lead to a casual, sexual relationship. I've been out of the dating scene for a long time, and having been faithful to my ex, am well out of practice in the pursuit of new relationships. I am on the shy side by nature and not a regular bar patron, so I am resorting to the internet for the possibility of meeting women of similar interests.

Could this have been possibly too honest? Perhaps, way too much information to start with? I'm a damned nice guy, but have gotten no positive responses as of 9/12/06.

As of 2/18/08, I'm dating a lovely lady from here and am currently on site for the forums. So, all of you ladies that were planning on writing can save the time and effort for now. Just kidding about the letters since only about 6 women have written in my four years here and I didn't really expect any.

Because of the potential dangers of such a meeting, a public meeting place would be in order where we could get to know each other and see if we have a mutual attraction. A restaurant or bar would be fine with me as well as a public park, if you would be more comfortable in the great outdoors. I wouldn't worry for my safety, as I feel that I can take care of myself, but wouldn't want to cause any undue anxiety over your personal safety, and so I think that your choice, of where you would be at ease, would be most prudent.
