From reading profiles here it would seem most of us are perfect matches. Almost everyone wants the same things. For me, #1 is trust, which can only come with honesty. Not exclusively looking for romance but it would be wonderful if it happened. I would not limit myself to "talk/email", but want to start slow. I did not like that I had to choose one answer for the "I am looking for" question. I'm open for anything from friends to long term, but it all starts with being friends. Just getting together and doing things would be fine, it does not have to get romantic, if there is mutual interest we can call it dating. I believe in paying on a date and holding the door for a lady. I'm not interested in "short-term or intimate encounter". What I really want is to live happily ever after. To have someone who makes it worth while. To have someone I trust with my life and who trusts me with theirs. Someone to help me keep the faith that "it's not too late." And if it isn't you, can we still be friends?

First date: public but not crowded, quiet, open and honest conversation, no pressure, FUN! no job interviews, no drama, no baggage. (I answered no to "do you drink". I'm not a regular drinker, maybe 5 times in the last 10 years. The drink with dinner or on occasion is OK with me, but I'd rather to get to know someone without the alcohol)
