Update 9-30-09 -----------------------------------------------------------------------

My first book was recently published and is about moving forward with your heart in midlife. Reinvention has been a real journey, but it's been a very freeing one as well. Finding your true sense of purpose in life is no easy task, but when you find it... need I say more??

When life brings you lemons you either make lemonade or find someone who life has brought tequila to and make margaritas together. :-) Either way, you get to quench your thirst. Enjoy your search....

Well, oddly enough, it would seem that I'm back. I am reminded of the quote that says something like, 'it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.' Yet, I have also come to understand what I do that sabotages me... and it has nothing to do with behaviors and everything to do with choices. I am a self-described 'hopeful romantic' and have been willing to take great risks for my heart. While those risks have taught me a lot that is good, they have also shown me that after a while, hopefulness is simply not enough!! Making a choice from a position of safety and more surety is much better. Yes... while life brings no guarantees with it, at some point you learn that certain choices are safer than others... and this hard-learned lesson is where I operate from now.

Yes... while I want to find someone to settle down with, I really understand the value of first being friends and learning that we have similar values and goals in life. That in becoming friends and opening to one another in that way, we may just learn enough to open even more.

BTW, while my profile says non-religious, I am a very spiritual person in a very NON-RELIGIOUS manner. I would like to meet someone who is that way as well. Being with someone who is spiritual is incredibly important to me for that domain is where love can truly deepen and grow the most!

I am here to make friends, stay in touch with the ones that I have made and to hopefully (in that process) find one (NOT 'the one'... there IS no 'the one') who resonates with me and slowly explore the friendship as opposed to rapidly falling into something that is based on passion alone. I've done that enough and know that more often than not both are misunderstood in some way as well as hurt.

I am looking for friends who are spiritually based as people... who seek spiritual truth and look for that in others as well. Sharing on that level is very important to me. I tend to be non-judgmental, easy-going and look for the same in others. I also enjoy communicating on a daily basis with friends. I'm not here for the 'candy store', but to make friends... I KNOW what the candy store is all about! BTDT!

I'm NOT perfect and don't expect that of you either. However, my hope is that you know who you are and will communicate that well and I will do my best to do the same.

Meet and greets should be meeting for coffee (and maybe appetizers as well) and not drinks. First dates should be light and fun... bowling, miniature golf or anything that allows for fun, laughter and the ability to talk a lot with one another.
