My interests are a bit eclectic...I'm into arts and crafts (I can do glass etching, painting - primitive style tho), I almost LIVE on this computer...lol, I like puttering around the house when I can, I shoot pool (badly), I play darts, gamble (poker, casino - though i prefer the table games...people are happier there than they are at the slots, don't you think?), I like playing amature bartender (or as my friends call it - playing "chemistry set"), As you'll see later, I love reading and movies...I cook fairly well, and can bake up a storm... I have an interest in new age philosophies but am not a Wiccan or Pagan..I prefer to think of myself as a spiritual person. I'm a level III Reiki practitioner, I meditate, which brings me to my main interest - my two children.(They just entered their teen years, you don't think I'm gonna *need* that skill???) It's just the three of us and has been ever since my husband passed away 9 years ago. They drive me to distraction each and every day...and God help me, I love them for it (I usually only think that once they're sleeping though....lol) I've been working towards a couple of Bachelor degree over at UMass in Amherst (I already have a couple Associates degrees as well as a couple of certificates...) Currently, I'm a Senior in the Communications program there...I've also added a Psych major to this as well. (No, I cant leave well enough alone...lol) One of the groups I've joined at the school is the radio station there, I completed their DJ training and this summer I have my own radio show (70's and 80's music) on Saturday afternoons from 3 to 5 and now that I have the equipment down, I'm having a lot of fun with it!

I love the beaches of Maine...mainly off-season though. The mountains of NH...I'm a New England girl who cant imagine being any place nicer...unless I have to shovel snow, thennnnn we're gonna talk.

I can get into most kinds of music..well, lets just not mention rap...not even when it first gained mainstream knowledge..I just couldnt get into it. I enjoy all other kinds...Gwen Stefani, The Killers, Alice Cooper, The Eagles, Weird Al, Howard Jones, The Fools, Huey Lewis, and even Barry Manilow (stop laughing..! lol) I still enjoy listening to the songs from the 70's and 80's, and I even went though a country music phase long ago...Mickey Gilley, TG Shepherd, Sawyer Brown...I have an uncle who used to have a country music band who used to let me sing with him on occasion... A friend who composes new age/synthesizer music, got me into appreciating that style as well....

Movies...gosh...I like all kinds...all types...well...except for gory horror, but come on...a girl's gotta have SOME limits, right? Some of my favorite movies include: The Ghost and Mrs Muir (I cry every time at the end when he takes her hand...), The 10th Kingdom (I still think John Larroquette is under rated), Mortal Kombat (SUCH a guilty pleasure...lol), Clue, UHF (I *had* to get a copy of that when it came out...lol), "What's Up Doc?" (Yes, the Barbara Streisand movie...lol) And nothing beats a John Wayne western...now HE was the "man" Ok, so was Carey Grant..lol. I love curling up to watch him in "The Philadelphia Story", "Bringing Up Baby", and "His Girl Friday" ...ok, if you havent guessed, I'm a sucker for an old movie..lol

TV..omg, I am SUCH a tv junkie...wellllll, that's not entirely true..I'm a Cartoon Network, SciFi channel, Comedy Central and Food Network junkie...lol I just wish where I live now shows the British comedies..I *loved* Red Dwarf, Blackadder...and don't even get me STARTED on Monty Python and Fawlty Towers...lol... As for favorite shows..."House" I think is smart, funny (And forget about Hugh Laurie's eyes...wow!) South Park - I thought that was great from the beginning...lol. I was crushed when they took Animaniacs off the air..I went to eBay and tried to get every tape they had out...lol. Now, I want "The Angry Beavers"....Dagget was such a...lol...I *loved* him...lol Awesome show...and I really enjoy Anime on Adult Swim and Sci Fi channel.

I read anything I can get my hands on...subsequently, I know WAY more than I should about Corn Flakes. The only authors I can't get into are those who are SO engrossed in the technical descriptions, you know? Some Sci-Fi authors are guilty of this as is that guy who wrote those Patriot Games books...and The Hunt For Red October....oh come onnnnn you know the guy. The movies turned out great...but the books...holy cow!(UPDATE - Someone was kind enough to let me know the author's name: Tom Clancy - you can now resume your profile reading....repeat....the author's name is Tom Clancy...) I love a good mystery (If the detective's a woman, all the better..lol. It's easier to put myself into it) I'm a sucker for a fantasy - novel...lol. I used to be SUCH a Piers Anthony fan and Robert Asperin's Myth series I thought was great... No one can touch Stephen King of course and yes...I even admitting to reading trashy romance novels from time to time....

LOL...I'm not "looking" for anything...make me laugh and be my friend, I'll follow you almost anywhere...if something more develops, all the better..

Ok, I'm kidding...(god, I hope you realized that...!) I'd enjoy something simple...nothing fancy or splashy...it's not WHERE we go that impresses me...it the person I'm with...I'd love to just relax over coffee, or even something stronger. I love walking the beach (when I can go to one)...playing pinball/skeeball/frog pond game....lol. I like to play pool...I can trash talk pretty good..which makes up for my poor playing skills (I hope)
