I'm intelligent, reasonably articulate, and am told I'm fun. I like to be active outdoors; camping, hiking, and boating. I love to cook, work with wood, paint, and, when inspired, write poetry. I own an older home so have become quite adept at home repairs. I'm more comfortable in a campground than in a country club. I travel as much as possible, have taken several European trips but always alone. I'd really love to change that. My sense of humor is somewhat bizarre, and I do enjoy a good story. I am a bit old fashioned, believing that women are special and should be treated that way.

My main hobby is living history, and have done several time periods over the years so costume parties are no problem. Interacting with the public and at the same time educating people about a specific period or event has proven to be very rewarding. I especially remember a girl about 6 years old who, when trying out her first manual typewriter at an event, turned to her mother and with wonder in her eyes said, "Look, mommy, you get the print-out right away."

I try to find the good in most situations and to be the type of friend I would like to have. I'm supportive of my friends, but not to the point of letting them walk into danger; at least not alone.

I would like to find someone willing to share the good times, the bad times, and the in-between times.

Anyplace quiet where we could talk without shouting over the din.
