**Original (old) Profile**--still accurate, but perhaps a little vague...
I'm not desperately seeking, but then again I'm here, aren't I? Guess I'm looking for connections, of whatever sort--anything's possible, I figure, so why not give it a shot? A "connection" could be anything from physical to emotional to intellectual, short term to long term, depending on how things went. (Though long-term seems unlikely at the moment.) In short, I'm open to pretty much anything except instant-couple syndrome. That said, I'm fairly intense, and tend to be a one-on-one sort of guy (as opposed to a huge extrovert, though I do love people watching).
Generally speaking, it would be fair to say I prefer more of a see-how-it-goes kind of approach. And if it doesn't go, no worries. Just tell me so, and I'll feel free to do the same, and then there's no need for any of those polite little white lies. I prefer being up front about that kind of thing, as it makes life so much simpler to know where you stand, no?
I guess that's enough for the profile. Oh, except physically. Right. Of course that's important. Well, I've got a few piercings, a few tattoos, and kinda raggedy-curly shortish hair. And though I'm no 18 year old roid-boy, I do go to the gym fairly regularly, and I like to think it shows a bit. (I'll be happy to send you pics, if you ask nicely. I just prefer not to put them up for any random-searcher that happens by--like, say, a coworker/colleague/etc.)

If I did "dates" in the formal sense, then this would be in the "dating" section, wouldn't it? But okay, I can use the vocabulary...
I guess there are two kinds of first-encounter. One's the kind where you meet someone for the first time after previously online-only contact. Those are low pressure. Go for drinks or coffee, chat a bit, see how the transition from e-contact to personal contact goes. And if there are sparks in person, that's great. And if not, then that's fine too. From there, we can play it by ear. Like I said, anything is possible. ;)
The other kind of first encounter is the kind where you've already met, and you already know there's some kind of connection. In this case, anything goes, but I tend to prefer something fairly low-key. I'm more partial to the hang out and talk-and-talk-and-talk over drinks kind of date. Or drinks and pool and talk. Or dinner and talk. Or wander randomly around the city and talk. Or hang-gliding...and talk. (Not that I've ever been hang-gliding, but you see what I mean.) And if we find we've got nothing to talk about--well, then that says a little something about the interaction, now doesn't it? |
