Someone just brought it to my attention that my testimonials show that I'm taken. Well, that relationship fizzled out, so I wrote the people involved and asked them to change that part, but it may take a while....just so you know.

Let's see...how do I begin to talk 'about me'?

I could start with the boring stuff, I guess, and get it out of the way...and then move on to the better stuff....

I have a hearing loss, which, due to getting a cochlear Implant, is now worse, as I am learning how to hear all over again...and I must be a slow learner because it's been 2 years now. I just thank God this technology wasn't available when I was younger! With the help of lip reading, I can do one-on-one conversations, but do not do well in groups. The upside to this is....when you talk, you'll always have my undivided attention!

I just moved to PA from CA a little over a year ago...with my divorced daughter and her two toddler boys. She got a job, but it is graveyard shift and since she can't afford a sitter while she works AND while she sleeps, grandma (me) is doing it. As long as she is trying hard to do the right thing, I will be here for her. She doesn't work the standard M-F, 8-5 shift, so I'm not always available on weekends. Also, I'm very family-oriented, so if you never had kids, and it's because you never liked/wanted kids, then I'm probably not the woman for you. Of course, if you have grandkids that you adore, (or even kids), than it's a PLUS. Keep in mind, that the fact that I'm here for HER now, means that I will be there for YOU the same way when it's needed.

Although I don't smoke...it wouldn't bother me if you do. I've been around smokers all my life and the second hand smoke hasn't killed me yet.

I don't care what kind of house/apartment you have, what kind of car you drive...what's important is that you treat me the way I would treat you....

I'm not interested in 'playing house'...I know it has to start with friends, but eventually, I'm looking for my last relationship. I want to find someone who is in it for better or worse....at our age, it's a gamble who will be the first to falter. Hopefully, we will still have that sexual attraction for each other well into old age, no matter what hardships life hands us. I want to still see that glimmer in your eyes as you look at me from across the room.

I'm not looking for a young 'un...I want someone who will grow old along with me, for the best is yet to come.

I believe that actions speak louder than words and what you DO when you are with me,(alone OR with others), far OUTWEIGHS anything that you may have said.

I'm tired of doing everything alone, but I still would rather be alone, than to be in a bad relationship.

I love God, children, animals, patriotism, old folks, laughter.

I lost a husband in the Vietnam War, and while it was a long time ago ...(I was only 19)...I am still determined to keep his memory alive and still have unanswered questions.

I was recently sent a pretty cool get-to-know-you kind of thing. You pick 25 little-known things about yourself...and share. Here are a few of mine...and if you put 5 of yours in an email to me, it would help me to get to know YOU better...and would give you something to say when you write!

1. I am very patriotic...supportive of our troops, and wishing all our POW/MIA of ALL wars were home....dead or alive.
2. I love all animals...pets... as well as the wildlife I see out my window and on drives.
3. I HATE talking on the phone....for obvious reasons!
4. I wish that I could be a housewife over anything else because I love to cook and be a compliment to a man.
5. I drive a Jeep...an Army Replica Willy...but I've always had sporty cars in the past..(Firebird, Camaro, Mustang)...I love my Jeep, but doubt that I would ever get another.
6. I believe in God, but don't know much about the Bible, although I'm willing to learn. (I always hated history, and that's basically what the Bible is)
7. I'm a sucker for romance, and am still waiting for the day when I'll be able to actually hear those 'sweet nothings' whispered in my ear.
8. I was a War Widow at 19. It was the loss of innocence and life was never the same.
9. My brother was killed in a motorcycle accident when he was 25.
10. I don't hear worth a crap, so unfortunately, I tend to avoid people I don't know...(just became this way since getting the CI in late 2006.)
11. I love to play board games and cards...if I found a man who also liked this, I'd be in seventh heaven!
12. I don't have any addiction genes...and I always thank the Lord for that!!!
13. I'm slow to make friends, but once I do, they are my friend for life. (I'm still in contact with my friends from Elementary school in Ohio)
14. I absolutely LOVE Christmas and go all out!
15. I sleep with an electric blanket in the winter to keep me warm, but would much prefer to have a 'human heater'.
16. Ferrets are my favorite pet....they always do things to make me laugh!

I prefer to keep it short with a snack or something to drink...if we want to continue, we can take it from there...or even set up another short meet. I believe it often takes more than one meet to know if the connection will be there. Now that warm weather is coming, an ice cream cone at the local dairy or creamery would be fun, too. I'm close to Back Mountain Creamery and Hillside Farms. Visiting the animals could break the ice.
