About me... I'm a bubbly at times, reflective at times and even subdued at other times kind of gal. I prefer bubbly and tend to gravitate towards men that can make me laugh, let down my guard and engage in witty conversation. I'm also no stranger to serious, deep topics as well. As a matter of fact, I enjoy thought provoking dialogue. I find men that are open and are proficient communicators, to be very attractive. Guys, if you "have game" that's a plus, but game playing (even though it sounds cliche') is not something I'll invest any credence or time in to, there is an important distinction. I think most of us can agree that being honest and upfront, failing to mislead and treating others with the same regards as we, ourselves, would appreciate being treated with - is just good practice. After all, shouldn't we all be banking good karma?

Professionally speaking, I spent several rewarding years in the field of education. October of '08 found me at a crossroads between continuing my university curriculum gig or joining the family business that needed an immediate dependable and honest leader. Choosing to accept the role as "that leader" was, no doubt, a leap of faith. I typically prefer "safety" and "consistency", but this was an area that I felt would benefit my children, myself and my family in terms of the future so I took on the new role. Our business is located in Lexington.

Aside from working full time at the franchise, I'm also the lucky mother of two remarkable children - my very best friends - who have and are growing up way too rapidly. They are now 16 (son) and almost 21 (daughter) and are certainly not in need of my presence 24/7 anymore. Having children at their ages enables me to have "Paula time" again. I never missed it while rearing my children, but they seem to appreciate me being an individual and a "hip Mom" so I try to impress them by letting my hair down from time to time and giving them their space. :-)

Physically speaking, I will say that I'm not at all put out by younger men. I've found myself at times more compatible with them. I'm not sure if it is my love of college sports, music or a something completely different that has created the rapport that I seem to have with the younger guys, but I am not complaining. I enjoy men of all ages, not to exclude older men because I sincerely think that you should look farther than at the surface to discover the true person. Older men that can still "drop it like it's hot" and act like he's 20 on occasion will always get my applause.

I do command respect regardless of who it is that I communicate with and by all means intend to return that respect. I find that negative attitudes are a turn off but on the other hand, I will fully embrace an optimistic attitude. I have the propensity to be a bleeding heart, and I will do almost anything for just about anyone... my wish is that there exists a special someone that can appreciate that facet of my personality rather than exploit it. That's not asking too much... is it?

Even though there is a lot of frivolous fun to be had while casually dating a variety of people, what I'd ultimately love to find is that one special friendship that has the foundation for romance and longevity. Something more profound and meaningful is attractive to me. Long term is my honest goal but if that doesn't happen, I'm glad to have made some new acquaintances.

A University of Kentucky basketball game of course would be my top choice! lol If not that, then an Irish Pub ;-) Because of my Irish heritage, I'm partial to Irish bands, pubs, events, etc.

On a serious note, I think that a first date is comparable to a barometer, it is the measuring device of chemistry between the two as well as how much common ground that you share. From my experience, a first date is much less tense if the two of you meet in a neutral place and share either a meal, a drink, some coffee but mainly conversation. I don't think that it matters specifically what you do or where you go as long as your are able to discover some about one another.

Regarding those photos...if you look like a Grizzly Bear when you remove your shirt... please spare me the shock by not allowing that to be the initial photo that you share with me. ;-)
