I’m a down-to-earth, stable, slightly bombastic realist who is philosophically divorced from mainstream pop culture - an inquiring sort with a clean track record and little baggage. My interests are eclectic: I like to explore the natural beauty of the Southwest, enjoy live music, preferably blues, jazz, Latin, and progressive/classic rock, play golf, and shoot pool; photography, backpacking, biking, and skiing round out the list, to name a few. You’ll likely find me involved in a home improvement project, taking in a concert, exploring the wonders of the world on the back end of an international business trip, engaged in continuing education, or at the gym. I do step out for a drink or two once in a while and enjoy dancing on occasion. Though I enjoy social activities from time to time, I don’t consider myself to be a social extrovert and am equally content to simply stay at home and dabble about the household. A couple of nights on the town per month with a specific purpose is about my speed. Despite the at-times passive manner, I do possess a wealth of intense passion that is reserved for The One who strikes a chord deep within. My sexuality is more complex than the average neanderthal. I am, in large part, a solitary creature, so I tend to shy away from large groups; one-to-one encounters give greater satisfaction. I also don’t fraternize at either the social or corporate level, in other words, I’m not one of "the boys." In line with the uneasy truce that I have with the insane consumer culture in which we live, I value peace of mind and a spirit of unity with my surroundings over "big boy toys" and the creature comforts of pop culture. My jeans, tee shirts, and shorts are an important part of my salvation, although I’m perfectly comfortable with dressing formally, and have been known to shop all afternoon for the perfect tie...LOL! I do follow sports but simply do not have the time to spend an entire weekend in front of the tube, even during football season :( Home prepared meals are standard fare as I usually eat at home 4 to 5 nights per week. With my interests as varied as they are, I’m the type of guy who can occupy himself and isn’t at all uncomfortable with his own solitude. All said, I’m a mature, responsible guy who understands that he has to fend for himself and behaves accordingly toward that end. When it all gets to be too much, I retreat and digest recent events in order that I don’t become subjected to sensory overload! And, yes, my presentation is much less formal in person - just trying to leave a decent first impression here! Do NOT be fooled...

I'd rather describe who/what it is that I seek: I’m looking to share a balance of laughter, philosophical rhetoric, intellectual stimulation, and unbridled passion with ONE mutually exclusive, long-term companion aged 45+. While that might sound extreme and perhaps mean-spirited, I simply do not relate well to superficial, immature woman-chicks and feel obliged to step outside of my skin for a moment and make that point painfully clear in order to waste neither your time nor mine. That said, I still honor the code of chivalry that dictates that a woman should have her doors opened, chairs pulled away from the table, and cigarettes lit for her. ALL ethnic backgrounds are welcome, especially those of Latin, Asian, or African descent. NOTE: I am a light, polite smoker, as well as firm believer that a cigarette is a noteworthy punctuation for a manicured hand. On the other hand, I'm perfectly capable of lengthy refrain in the presence of a non-smoker. Ornate body art is a most welcome enhancement to the feminine presence! I don’t mind if you have children at home, but NO lushes, drug users (marijuana included), swingers/swappers, attached cheaters, or multiple divorcees.
