About Me
I'm a full time single parent of two girls. My older daughter has cerebral palsy, can't talk, can't walk, is getting ready to start her third year of college. My younger daughter is in Japan presently. She'll be back in June, then off to college.
I spent eight years in the US Army. Was messed up a little. Not bad, but enough to where I had to get out. I have a few years of college under my belt. The military said I was intelligent enough to become an officer, but I turned them down. I discovered officers can be judged by how well they socialize. I'm not all that much of a social creature, so I wouldn't make a good officer. I left the military with only one vice: Coffee! I don't smoke, don't drink, have no tattoos, so I feel really good coffee isn't too bad a vice. btw... Starbucks isn't good coffee. It's a burnt acidic sludge that makes Army field coffee taste like the elixir of life!
I'm somewhat quiet until I get to know the people who I'm with. After I get to know you, watch out! I love to joke around and pull practical jokes. Although I enjoy jokes, I always respect the person and try not to step on honor or respect. I feel respect, honor, and empathy are very important, especially in a relationship. A person needs to know how to respect not only themselves, but others as well. Same thing with "honor". If they have no honor, they will not think twice before doing something that could bring the relationship down. Empathy is important. Being able to think how others will feel if you do something to them speaks for itself. One more thing... "esprit de corps". If you can't live it, please go on to the next person. If you don't know what it means, look it up. If you are prior service and don't know what it means, SHAME!!! Be gone with thee! btw... If you ARE prior service or a military brat, drop me a line. We'll talk over a cup of joe. If you aren't prior service or a military brat, I'm still open. It's just you may not understand my lifestyle as well if you were.
I know I have listed as "Prefer Not To Say" where the page says, "Do you have a car?" I don't have a car. I have a truck! The first vehicle I had was a 63 Chevy 3/4 ton truck. I've been a pick-up truck man since!
First Date
I'd like to take the time to get to know you and you to get to know me first. I have a theory; Friends always listen without judging. They share hobbies, likes, dislikes, and think reasonably alike. Where they disagree, there's no hard feelings. They understand no two people are exactly the same. Friends look forward to seeing each other, they don't do things against each other knowingly. If they do, they are quick to apologize and quick to understand what was done was done without malice. Friends can have discussions where they disagree, listen with an open mind, reject or accept either their own ideas or their friend's fairly. Who better to have a relationship with than a friend?
What would I like to do on the first date? How about a cup of joe, some small talk, a walk on the beach. If everything seems to go well, perhaps dinner?
One last thing; I don't like piercings (other than conservative earrings) or tattoos. Please, please, please, if you have them, don't bother to contact me. It'll be easier on the both of us if you don't.
