I love to laugh, and crack jokes as often as possible (sometimes at inappropriate times). I'm being promoted to a teaching position at a residential school for high-risk youth beginning April 21st, 2008, and I'm very excited. I'll mainly be teaching literature and writing, but will also instruct in basic math and hard sciences, as well as creative writing and website and game design.

Other than work, I enjoy working out, but need to do it more often. I like camping and fishing, and make several weekend trips with my father during the summer. I enjoy playing games of all sorts, particularly card games, and I only use video games to kill time. I also like RPGs, and was being paid by a comic book shop to run Dungeons & Dragons games while I was in college. I'm a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, despite being born closer to Pittsburgh. I've only been in the Denver area since September of 2005, but I'm enjoying my time here.

For books, I like philosophy, psychology, and fantasy novels (particularly George R.R. Martin). Movies are pretty much open, but I really like horror and suspense, and am very critical of dramas. Musically, I mostly listen to modern rock (106.7), but also some country and oldies. I have a food allergies to soy products, red and white beans, and sage; my favorite meals include sushi, steak, and stir fry. I'm a big fan of chocolate.

A good first date would involve something that's decently active, like bowling, pool, darts, a short hike. It's nice to have something to talk about while you're doing it, but nothing so strenuous that you can't maintain a conversation. After the activity, some drinks, and possibly dancing. (I believe that the man should pay entirely for the first date, but come on, I'm a fledgling teacher, so we're not taking a trip to Paris for the first date!)
