There are so many romantic, fun things to do in life, its how you create it..from staying in for romantic evenings at home with a movie or wine and dinner, to going out dancing or exploring the world. For a first date, I would keep it simple, maybe meet for a drink or coffee in a somewhat quieter restaurant or bar, where we could at least hear each others conversation. Then if there is some interest, perhaps listening to music in a nice, romantic place. Sometimes things start from friends, and sometimes there is a little magic!!
