What to say; well I love to write I have a very active mind (occasionally to the point where I can't sleep) and writing (often procrastinating when I should be writing) is the only way I can get any peace. Never been published but I'm working on my first novel.
I don't like sports (especially football) because they bore me and many (but certainly not all) of the fans act like jackasses. It is fun to watch the expression on their faces when you tell them you have no interest in it though, you can see the wheels turning trying to find information and drawing a blank.
I'm a strong believer in equal rights (for all) but I don't think people should be forced to see my view and will respect someone disagreeing with me but will try to show them another perspective.
Not really looking for love at the moment (but always looking for the fringe benefits; okay that's half a joke I'm not likely to jump into bed with a complete stranger but if you play your cards right…)
Anyhoo a bit more me thinks so i'll add some of the things that keep me amused.
Music: A few of the ones I listen to most often are Matchbox Twenty, The Goo Goo Dolls, George Michael, Melissa Etheridge, Jewel, David Bowie, The Rat Pack, Counting Crows, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Flickerstick, The Smiths and Texas. Oh and I love love love John Barrowman too *looks about shiftily*.
Books: The Vampire Chronicles and the associated novels. The Star Trek: New Frontier series by Peter David. Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay.
Movies/TV: When it comes to film I like a fair mix but at the moment I'm hooked on mushy gay romantic comedies and I'm disappointed when the guy doesn't get the guy or the girl doesn't get the girl.
Clerks, Mallrats, I'm sure you can see where this is going so I'll stop there.
I like sci-fi (and associated genres) but tend to be very picky about what I will watch; ray guns and aliens aren't enough, there have to be interesting plots and characters; Star Trek, Babylon 5, Firefly, Brimstone, Now & Again, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Doctor Who are some of my favourite TV shows.
Food: Chinese, Indian and things that are tasty but quick to make. I'm kind of fussy when it comes to meat though.
Comics: The Authority, Planetary, Exiles, The Walking Dead, Green Arrow, Marvel Zombies, Preacher, Transmetropolitan, X-Factor, Hack/Slash, Justice Society of America, Justice League of America, Y: The Last Man, Booster Gold, Ultimates and many more especially the D.C. Elseworlds tales, I’m a sucker for a good alternate reality story.
First date? *ponders* Most people tend to like to go for a drink or out to a club and what not, but that wouldn't work for me since I'm not a drinker and dislike being around drunk people. Fair enough if that's how you have fun but I don't need a drink in order to chill out.
So whatever we ended up doing it would be of the alcohol free variety, like taking in a movie and if that went well enough I might cook for you on a second date.
