Just looking around (Kinda).... looking to make new friends, and Ahoy! There be peoples on this thing they call the Inter-Webs!

Personally, I'm just looking to chat, live my life, and share stuff with the people I meet along the way. I'm also a happy, wild, open, trusting and trustworthy christian girl. Looking for friends to laugh with, to talk to, to walk with in this confusing, expansive and wondrous maze we call life.


So....just so you know, I am taken (Sorry guys)....Rob's been a wonderful part of my life for 3 years now...and I really couldn't see my life without him in it. (And just so you know, I met Rob through POF....this thing really DOES work!!!)

A little about myself....I like to think of myself as a realist with rose-coloured glasses, lol.... I try to fight fair, and to be reasonable....though some days that's harder to do than others.

I love having fun, and I love to socialize.

Go figure that I also cherish my private time, lol.

When it comes to friends, or people in general...

I do love meeting new ppl, but I'm here for friendship. I do still check my mail here, and feel free to say hi....I don't bite. Well, not very hard, anyway, lol.

I like people that have a good, smart head on their shoulders. And those that are mature, but are still children at heart, and aren't afraid of being crazy, even in public places; those that aren't afraid of making funny noises in a crowd and not being embarassed for looking insane, because really..... Normal is boring. I love being different from the acceptable 'norm'....and I absolutely expect my close friends to have the same view. Might as well have fun while we're here, right?

And if you haven't noticed....I like people, lol. Some are brilliant. Some aren't. Some make you realize how wonderful this life is, and some teach you how NOT to live your life....but nearly all are always worth the effort to get to know. Because each person will have SOME sort of lesson to teach you, whether it takes a day, or a WHOLE lifetime.

Just don't let yourself get jaded. There's a LOT of people out there that just make you think that life sucks. That's not always the case...it's all in your perception. Change your perception, and your attitude will follow suit.

Guard your heart against ill-wishers, but be open and honest.
Being cautious is good, but not when it dulls life's colour and magic.
See the world as an infant-be awed by everything.
And don't worry when people look at you funny, because it only FEELS as though you'll die from embarrassment...

God put us on this earth, not just to keep our eyes to the ground, constantly working in the dirt. He has a sense of humour as well. He wants us to enjoy this life, to be happy in it, WHATEVER is thrown our way. He never promised us a bed of roses, true... but true success comes in how we deal with the circumstances that are handed to us.

I'm a firm believer of friendship before romance, because without loyalty and honesty, there is NO relationship. Friendship or otherwise.

I'm also a sucker for romantic gestures.....a flower for when you miss me, or a whole box of chicken noodle soup and ginger ale when I'm feeling under the weather.... Seriously, the classic gestures are timeless and priceless!

It's pretty much 'anything goes' here. I listen to a WIDE variety, from Jason Mraz to Mindless Self-Indulgence to Evanescense, Seal, Melissa Etheridge, Pink, Beanie Man and the list goes ON.....

Books

I have quite a few favourite books, though lately my favourite author is Sherrilyn Kenyon....a new type of romance, let's just put it that way, lol.... Otherwise I love any type of fiction....mostly set back in the Elizabethan period OR anything to do with time travel.

Movies

There's a lot of stuff, but I'll give you some of my favourites...
Poolhall Junkies, Anything Disney, Anything by M. Night Shyamalan, Almost all the Marvel movies, Day After tomorrow, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Grease (Classic!), The Sandlot, All three Matrix movies (although I was disappointed by the last one), Ben and Joon....I like Chick Flicks too, though I don't watch them often.....oh, and Silence of the Lambs....There's prolly more, but I can't really think of them atm.


Foods

Anything with CHEESE!!! LOL! I also like chinese food, and sometimes McDonald's....the grease-trap that it is. And Angel's Diner and the Country Boy in Kitchener has some really awesome food, too. Oh yeah, one more thing....I'm a sucker for Japanese food, sushi, and seafood of any type. Yeah, I've got a wierd palate, lol....

First date.....I'm not entirely sure about that, though I know nothing beats the classic dinner and a movie.
Personally though, I'd be up for ANYTHING....Even munching on snacks, while driving on the highway 20 over the speed limit and talking about anything and everything.
I like walking, too....and I SWEAR, one of these days I'm going to go check out the Art museum at the University of Guelph....or just walk around the property checking out the pieces....
