About Me
I tend to think of life as a spiritual journey. I am not looking for anything in particular, just looking to meet new people, and possibly date.
A few tidbits about me: I am pretty up front, I believe in being honest and expect the same in return. I'm inquisitive, I know a little bit about a lot of things, and everything about nothing, I love music but it is painful to hear me sing, I'm afraid of snakes, my favorite season is fall, I love the redwoods, and rocky coastlines, my facial expressions often don't match my emotions. I cry at sad movies, I'm kinda old fashioned, I like men to behave like men and allow women to be women. On that note…

I am sometimes insecure, I love butterflies, puppies and catching pollywogs, I study astrology, and have taken courses on metaphysics, I like to paint with water colors to music, I like dreaming, I believe that mistakes are alright as long as we learn from them, I love to laugh, and enjoy people who make me laugh, I like learning new things, I smoke to much, I value friendship, I love my daughter, I fight change but thrive on it, I either eat like a bird or I pig out, I can't stand George W Bush, I'm a neat freak, I like to watch football, I'm a Dolphin fan, and a fan of Eddie McCafferys butt. I have an opinion on almost everything. I don't expect you to adopt my opinions, nor will I necessarily adopt yours, but I am interested in hearing them. I’m a huge Bruce C ockburn fan, and a bit of a PBS junkie.
I believe that having things in common is important, but I also think it is just as important to have thoughts, feeling, likes, opinions etc that are different from one another, I think agreeing to disagree is a good thing, I like to be around people who make me think and challenge me spiritually, mentally and emotionally, naturally I don’t want these challenges everyday or all day long but I do think evolving is one of the most interesting aspects of life, I'm loyal, compassionate, and I don't hold grudges......
Should you write and ask dead end questions, you will get dead end answers........PLEASE BE ABLE TO OPEN UP A "CONVERSATION" IF YOU ARE GOING TO WRITE ME......stimulating my mind, my funny bone, and/or my heart, will earn you bonus points..... as will....owning tools and knowing how to use them .

DISCLAIMER: Regarding my beloved friends testimonial about me: I do not know all the answers on Jeopardy, I am by far not a beauty nor do I think people are enchanted by me. The enchiladas are alright but who can eat enchiladas everyday? ( She wrote this a few months ago when I moved out of state)

 | I could not find words that could sum up the love, devotion and admiration that I feel for this woman. So instead I will include words from a quote that I have had hanging on my wall for many years. Now that Vickie (my best friend, mentor, soul mate….my heart), has moved away, I have also had to put this quote in my wallet, for she was the only person on this earth who made me believe these words as truthsand I can no longer sit with her for hours when I am in need of insperation. These words encompass everything she has taught me for the last 20 years. They also describe how she lives and treats people, each day of her life:
"It is not the critic who counts. It is not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena. Whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood. The man who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again. Because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself for a worthy cause. Who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." Vickie has taught me over the years, to live by these words.
She truly knows not of the “beauty”, or of the “enchantment” people can not help but see and feel when they are around her. She is the first person who will offer you food if you are hungry. She believes in community….her community as well as mine, and yours. She believes that the welfare of each person, depends on the welfare of all people. She will feed you if you are hungry, and will provide shelter and safety to people in need, regardless of the toll it may take on her life.
Hours (and sometimes days!) are lost discussing anything from spirituality, politics, the lack of education in our children’s schools, Walmart taking over the world (ha ha!)…yet are balanced with her humor and fun arguments (like how she thinks she cant cook. She’s lying! She makes the best enchiladas and pork chops in the world!). She can solve problems faster than anyone I have ever met, and she listens to her music too loud. She will remember everything, and loves to reminisce and share secret jokes. She will be the first person in the front yard to yell at the car that is driving too fast (even if its a BIG driver!!)because “your” child may be playing on the side of the street. She knows every single answer on Jeopardy and she doesn’t like talking in the morning. She sets three alarms (that go off simultaneously!!) and still wont wake up(thats one I bet she forgot to tell you!!)!! She somehow has the best smell on her, even though she smokes. She knows more about football than any man I have ever met, and she always makes her bed, every single morning!! She is the only person who I can go cruising with down town (of course when all of the tourists are out!!) sticking our heads out the window waving madly like we know them, just to laugh our heads off when they wave back with a look of utter confusion. I could go on and on, forever, telling you all of the idiosyncrasies that will endear you. So I will leave you with the most important: She has taught me that we need to be practical and truthful to ourselves, before we can be truthful with others. She has taught me to be honest, descent, and fair in all of my dealings, because she is the type of woman who believes we are all entitled to no less…Regardless of how other people view our worth. She lives each day by providing you with “the freedom of choice” regardless of the outcome that may fall upon her. She will encourage your dreams, but will point out areas that may need more thought…and then she will lead you to “your” answer with one discussion. I cant wait for the day that I can hand her this quote that sits in my wallet, and get in the car to go and wave at strangers. If you are lucky, it might be you.
