Who am I? Why should you want to get to know me? How does one begin to answer such complex questions? Each one of us on this site tries to come up with some sort of ‘sales pitch’, attempting to summarize our core values in a few sentences while trying to explicate in the most basic of terms what we are looking for in a possible significant other/date/friendship.

As I read through female profiles, so many appear to say the exact same thing albeit using slightly different wording. Most want someone who is fun to be around, someone who can make them laugh (this is in more profiles than I can count; comedians must have it good). Honesty, integrity, intelligence, family values, life direction, these are all core themes to MOST female profiles. This is hardly surprising. I can’t see too many women being interested in dumb, lazy, perpetually unemployed, constantly crabby, loner types (although I might be wrong about this as evidenced by some of the garbage several of my female friends appear willing to settle for/put up with).

I am sure it’s the exact same case for the women clicking on male profiles. No matter what the reality of the situation is, I am sure all the guys try to express how much fun they are, how intelligent they are, how successful they are, blah blah blah blah blah.

Let’s be honest for a second. It’s time for some real talk!

None of the qualities indicated above can truly be expressed here! Hence, the reality is that it doesn't matter what is written in the profile. In the end, whether or not initial contact occurs is always reduced to the ever mysterious matter of physical attraction. You are either physically attracted to the person, or you are not. Sure, the profile can indicate some level of basic literacy or lack thereof. But in the end, whether or not any relationship develops, on any particular level of intimacy, depends first on the physical. Any real chemistry that might manifest comes later in real life interaction.

I have tried to create the standard profile in the past, but always seemed to fall into the same patterns indicated above. I am a complex individual, a mixed bag of talents to be sure. I possess many wonderful traits that I would love to share with the right person. I also have some areas where I come up slightly short (all hair jokes aside!) None of these can effectively be summarized in a few measly paragraphs.

So the gist is this. If you find yourself attracted, message me, or add me to your favorites, or whatever. We can go from there. Whether it leads us to a good friendship or beyond simply depends on way too many other variables impossible to express or capture here.
