My hope is to meet someone who enjoys the arts, culture, discovery. Someone who is not afraid to step out of the box just enough to challenge things we are not familiar with. We can have things in common and things not in common. We can learn new things from each other while supporting the things we do well.

I enjoy going to art galleries, plays, music performance. This is work and play combined for me. I am enjoying my life making art, researching and socializing with friends, going to art openings, events, etc...
I also have an active exhibition record and enjoy a network of friends and collegues all across the country. Would like to get more art exhibits so I have been applying to various galleries.

I have been teaching art in university and college programs for years and love my work. Recently I relocated back to Ontario from Vancouver to teach in a Media Studies program. Developed some new courses material for my 180 students. What a year!
Yet it's nice to have those summer break!

Been researching ideas about Compexity Theory. Reading a great book on this subject that traces its history to the beginning of the Santa Fe Institute. Hoping all of this will help me to develop more profound visual art ideas.
I am also reading works by John R Searle, The Rediscovery of Mind, The Mystery of Consciousness.
Mark Turner's ideas on Blending; Struart Kauffman; lots of material on media history, art theory and various papers about language.

Went to Cuba this past May.
Stayed downtown Santiago and hung out with artists who showed me the town and surrounding areas, beautiful!
Also worked at a cultural center and made some lithographs. Met a person who has 200 artifacts about Santeria collected from all over Cuba.The collection has been in many exhibitions in Latin America. I was asked to help get this collection donated to a museum here in Canada. So far there has been lots of interests! Will be going back to Cuba for a few weeks in December 2009.
I am speaking at a conference. For this trip I will receive a cultural visa that will allow me to stay in peoples homes.

I am a romantic at heart who enjoys profound or simple thoughts mixed with stimulating discussions. My sense of wit and humour is cool! Be it in formal or informal settings I blend in easy and can talk to most people in an intersting way. Years of teaching has helped me to be good at communicating directly with people.

Staying in good health is important to me eating right and working out at the gym every other day.
Been running 5-6 Kilometers every other day for the past 3 years. Before taking up running I did yoga for three years.
Protein shakes made with rice milk, whey isolates, pear, banana, salba seeds, hemp hearts
and organic cocoa has become a daily treat. I will eat almost anything but vegetables are my main diet.

Lastly, I write and play folk rock music and have been since I was a teenager.
Music is something I appreciate very much but my creative career has been
primarily in the visual arts.

A first date...more like a first get together. I enjoy hot chocolate!
Nothing complicating. Let's just be comfortable. We are only wanting to see each other
in a simple way to talk and get a sense of one another.
