I'm a So Cal native, born and raised in the South Bay. I've now been a long-time Westsider except for brief stint recently in Orange County. I am self-employed as an attorney. Professionally, I'm sort of a "jack-of-all-trades", with most of my experience in real estate related litigation. Apart from work, I like to write and I also play guitar. I play in a band with a group of old friends that performs in bars and private parties every once in a while. My musical taste is varied; my band plays classic alternative and hard rock.
I also enjoy bike rides, running, long walks and hikes, and I drag myself into the gym every once in a while, too. I could stand to lose a couple pounds, but I'm still fairly fit and proportionate. I was a redhead as a kid, but my hair has gone dark auburn over the years, plus a little gray, too. Ethnically, I have a mixed background of Irish, Austrian, Scottish, English, French, Hungarian and Romanian.
I'm not religious, nor am I put off by anyone else's faith. I've always been interested in spirituality and philosophy. My career has given me much insight into human nature, and I'm always fascinated by it. Politically, I range from liberal to conservative, depending on the issue. I'm not a "knee-jerk" anything, and like to figure things out on my own rather than having talking points spoon-fed to me.
I'm not a hardcore sports fan, except when it comes to UCLA; if a Bruin basketball or football game is on tv, it may be impossible to pry the remote out of my hands.
I have a very intense and serious side, but most of the time I'm very even-keeled and down-to-earth. My goals and values have more to do with experience than acquisition. I value my independence. I also value my friends and family and like to maintain a steady (if not busy) social life. In addition to playing music in public, I also like to go out and see other bands sometimes. You might also catch me at the movies, a comedy club or the theater every once in a while.
So, who am I looking for? I seek a woman who shares some of my basic values and attitudes. On the other hand, I don't think its necessary to mirror each other in terms of opinions, background and taste. Who am I attracted to? I've been attracted to many different "types." I look for a combination of that mysterious instant physical "chemistry" along with a developing sense of camaraderie that comes from shared values, wit and interests. Ultimately, I seek a long term relationship, but I checked the "dating" category in my profile because I tend not to rush into a relationship, nor am I desperate to be in one. I believe the best relationships happen naturally, and are not forced.
