I'm a no nonsense type - I usually say exactly what I mean (or try too, anyway). I won't be impressed by any "things" you might have, but you can impress me by being kind and optimistic and making me laugh. I have made a pretty good life for myself and my kids and most days, I'm content with it. But there are those days when it occurs to me that having a man in my life again might be nice.

I'm not what you would call high maintenance, although I do try to look presentable when I go out in public (lol). My kids are well mannered and very protective of me (as I am of them). From reading the profiles on here, I know that a lot of men in my age group are really into their motorcycles but, alas, I would have ZERO interest in riding with you (I've had a couple of friends over the years lose their lives riding motorcycles through absolutely no fault of their own, not to mention the fact that I don't enjoy bugs in my face, windburned skin or hair so tangled it hurts - sorry!).

As far as drama goes, I don't really have any and I'm not in the market to get any either. (I don't have any crazy ex's lurking around or anything and if you want to go out with me, you won't either.) I am very close to my parents (even though they can drive me nutty some days) and to my siblings.

I keep up with current events and politically, I'm pretty conservative. I do, however, try to keep an open mind and I get along best with other people who do too (and that means keeping an open mind to ALL viewpoints and not just the ones you agree with!). People who are politically apathetic are kind of a turn-off for me.

I would prefer to meet a man who already has children (only because I won't be having any more), but it's not a prerequisite. You would, however, need to understand that being an only parent is sometimes demanding and I can't usually just drop everything to go out and party (well, unless it's a really good party!). But, my kids are quickly approaching their teenage years, so hopefully, as they have less time for Mom, I'll have more time for a relationship.

I think meeting for lunch or for dinner is a great first date, or just for a drink if you'd prefer that. Or we could just go bowling. :)
