| | I am a young looking, and fit 53. I have two wonderful children, a girl and a boy. Though they are the most important things in my life, one is working in another city and the other has gone off to university. Guess it's time for me. I would like to start with friendship and if something develops ... so be it. At this point, I am looking for someone to spend time with and share a conversation, a dinner date, and a movie. I chose to say that I am looking for "Dating" because I do not want to presuppose anything. The reality is that I think relationships begin with friendship and friendship begins with meeting, talking, and spending time together. So "Dating" it is. By the way my definition of dating is 2 people agreeing to see each other, talk, laugh, and share experiences. Dating ends when intimacy begins and I call that courtship. (You will discover why I did not put down "Friends" if you read on.) LOL yes I am kinna old fashioned that way.
Although I work in the world of ideas, I love working outdoors in the Spring and Summer. I prefer the simple pleasures in life - a good book, intelligent meaningful conversation over good coffee, gardening, and watching the storm clouds roll in on a beach. I love to cook and enjoy experimenting in the kitchen.
My ideal date is a quiet intimate evening of dinner, soft music, and meaningful conversations.
I value honesty, generosity of spirit, and kindness. I am not into games and "friends" are just that ... FRIENDS. "Benefits" mean extended health care, paid vacations, and group insurance. My years have taught me that relationships not based on mutual respect and genuine compassion are more about ME than WE. True relationships that last focuses outwards and not inwards, strives to sustain the WE, and seeks to please the other. Quick flings may satisfy the libido for a season but does nothing for the soul in the long run ... they do not last.
My profession is such that it is unwise to put up my pictures. Suffice to say my appearance do not make babies cry or cause mirrors to crack but GQ will probably not call me for a photoshoot. :-) Nevertheless vanity causes me to say that I still have all my hair, do not take my teeth out at night, and I can still see my toes when I stand up and look down. I work out, take care of myself, but I am not a fanatic and believe that keeping fit revolves around balance ... in other words you will not find protein supplements in my home.
One last and the most important thing, I am a committed Christian and my faith is an essential and central part of who I am.
