sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow......
but when you think you know it all, you learn something new!
My background is in art, music and the fashion industry which was spent in 60's London. Returning to the North of England I had a very long marriage, just the one! Did the whole family with house, kids, animals and the two cars thing. In employment I went straight to the management and directorship level very quickly.
It was an amazing jolt for it all to end with a big reality check. Now at retirement I feel I have come straight back to my roots.
Bo-ho hippy with a gypsy soul and a love of country music.... Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, Willie Nelson, Bellamy Brothers, Zac Brown Band, Byrds, Poco, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Eagles, Alabama, Stones and even the Beatles! to name just a very few.
I love to spend time by water and of course my favorite food is anything from the ocean, preferably eaten close to it in the open air.
As kids my brother and I spent a lot of adventure time on and near the water, our dad had a couple of boats after he got back from sailing around Africa so it must be in the genes!
I've never been on a 'package' holiday though I've traveled a bit through work and visiting friends which is a great way to experience different cultures.
I just don't get the thing of boarding a plane to fly off to stay at a high rise hotel around a swimming pool filled with bodies, noise and booze.
My ideal holiday would be an quiet sandy beach/bay, local produce cooked fresh. Huge sky and a massive sun settling onto the horizon.... balmy breeze.
I quite like extreme weather too.... anything to do with nature really. Keeping things simple works for me.
Recently I've had a taster in Tai Chi and Belly Dancing. I know that may sound rather diverse but it's all to do with harmony and balance.

A good friend sent me these 'rules for being human' and I'd like to share them with you...
1. You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it, but it is yours for the entire time this time round.
2. You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called 'Life'
Each day in this school, you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant or stupid.
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation.
The 'failed' experiments are as much part of the process as the experiment that ultimately 'works'
4. A lesson is repeated until it is learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it.
When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
6. 'There is no better than here'.
When your 'there' has become 'here', you will simply obtain another 'there' that will, again, look better than 'here'.
7. Others are merely mirrors of you.
You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie inside you.
The answers to life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.
10. You will forget all this.

 | Brigita "Gittie" has become my best friend on the whole planet. She has really been an influence on me and my life. We are on the same page and certainly think the same way about things. Our lives are so similar and alike that it is amazing to me. Gittie is a wonderful person and has a heart of gold. I think she is a wonderful person and I am so gald she is my friend. Even though she is way across the big pond from me she is still very special to me. She always will be too. If it was not for that big ol hole of water I would just drive right over for dinner with her. Then maybe a sight seeing trip around Jolly ol England. Then we could set out for America and have dinner and a ride aroung the good ol US. But that huge hole full of water keeps us apart. Maybe one day a great big ol jet plane will land at Huntsville International Airport and there she will be and me sitting there waiting on her to arrive. Or maybe I might just be landing in Jolly ol England. Who know about that. |

A very warm, caring, funny person, a great shopping pal, brilliant company and a fantastic dancer.
This lady is 63, looks 40 and acts 18.

sence of life. I feel I know her all of my life. We should write that book and mark it
as fiction, as people won't believe how 2 people who never knew each other before could
