I'm pretty happy with my life as it is. That is, single. That doesn't rule out finding that best friend and lover, the one who will spontaneously go for Sunday brunch, a trip to the tropics or a cruise. If you're romantic and thoughtful, faithful, and can laugh easily, bonus points!

My friends have told me that I'm positive, humourous, compassionate, thoughtful, loyal, and sensitive. Amazing what they'll say for a few bucks, isn't it? Actually, I have friends that go back 30 years. Thanks guys. You know who you are.

I like evenings with friends, cooking new recipes for my friends, a good game of Scrabble, (even a bad game of Scrabble) strong coffee, people who are positive, Thai food, lakes, rivers and a lot more. I don't like people with huge egos, liars, or those who put others down or otherwise hurt people.

I'm an old folkie. Love the music of those days, Tom Paxton, Stan Rogers, Pete Seeger, PP & M and so many others that made great music. So sorry that we lost Mary Travers. I also love the music of Jimmy Buffet and have actually sipped a margarita and chewed a little juicy fruit on the beach in the Caribbean. Can't exclude blues and jazz either, preferably live.

I've lived in Canada's largest city and worked in its skyscrapers as an executive's office assistant. I've also lived and worked on one of BC's tiniest gulf islands and been moved to tears by the beauty of a deer on my front lawn in the early morning light. I've been a subway rider into the city canyons every day and I've caught my own dinner from a canoe in the ocean. I've run offices and balanced budgets. I've chopped wood, learned to sail and babysat chickens.

There have been lots of ups and downs along the way, but if the next part is even a fraction of that roller coaster ride so far, giddy up!

A confession. I'm a bit older than my profile says. I typed it in wrong and can't change it. Just want to be honest and up front here.

One final thought:
I've found that people are like fruits, some are sour, some are sweet, some need to ripen a bit more and others just need to be put in the compost pile to help the next crop grow better.
