Hey now, I'm Alex, nice to meet y'all.

For the record, I really wish I wasn't doing the whole online dating thing. But since I'm not really into the whole bar/club scene, this is as good as any spot to find good people to meet.

So about me: A 24-year-old Brooklynite that was born, raised and educated in this wonderful city and damn proud of it. Graduated college with my BA in journalism and somehow put it to good use through hard work and some sheer luck. In other words: I'm gainfully employed and thankful for it. I'm proud of what I've accomplished and I'm looking forward to making more of myself in the future.

I'm a huge sports fan and it's a big part of my life. Without sports, I'd be without a job and hoping that President Obama's stimulus package works out the way he says it will. Do it, Big O. I'm also an avid reader, a writer who's just gotten over his writer's block recently, an amateur foodie and discovered how freaking awesome jogging is recently. I also love music -- Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, STP and Smashing Pumpkins are some my favorites. Along with Aqua, Ace of Base, Shakira and lately, Katy Perry (there's something about her). I'm kind of random like that.

All I'm looking for is to find a great gal to chat with and hopefully develop a meaningful relationship -- friendship, boyfriend/girlfriend -- and just have a blast doing it. I'm pretty goofy and I like to think I can have a good conversation with most people, although sometimes with women I do get a bit shy. But once you get to know me, I'm just a dork who wants nothing more other than to be considered and known as a good guy and not some internet creep that will be profiled on 60 Minutes by Katie Couric.

UPDATE: This apparently goes both ways. Look, I'm not perfect, but if I were to have a girlfriend, I'd prefer her to be not crazy. Maybe silly, goofy. But not legitimately crazy.
