I thought that it would be a good thing to update my profile since I am currently in China for a least a year. I am teaching math and I.T. (well, actually it's MSOffice, Access and Web Design but who am I to correct the course names) to high school students at a private boarding school.

My goal: I want to learn Mandarin while I'm here so to that end have decided that I must practice for at least one hour every day.

I sold all my "stuff" to move here...some days I wonder what I was thinking but it will be interesting to see what the year brings...maybe an extension of the contract...who knows.

Well it says I should talk about my taste in music so here goes...I like pretty much all kinds of music...yes, even opera, classical, and country and western. I guess the only thing I don't like is really heavy metal although I was introduced to the song "Nothing Else Matters" by a Danish pal of mine...played by Apocalyptica, not the original...and I think it is one of the most beautiful things I have heard. Unfortunately I had to leave all my CDs at home...no room in my suitcase and besides the darn things weigh a ton. I guess it's time to download to the new laptop ;o)

I like to dance, walk my dog in the country, read, watch TV, and share conversation along with a glass of shiraz or Glenlivet while making dinner. Well, I guess all that is on hold for a while until I get back to Canada...if that ever happens.
