About Me
some men do not like forward women. i do. so if you are interested in my profile or anything else about me, or would simply like to chat, please, by all means take the initiative and fire off a note saying that you would like to have some kind of communication with me. or as andrew marvel said, Had we but world enough, and time, This coyness, lady, were no crime..... etc. etc. etc. also, i do not like writing and much prefer talking on the phone or in person. i am looking for people who actually want to meet me or at least want to talk with me. i am not looking for pen pals.

anyone wishing to know more about what i am interested in, think, and feel can check out my very recent blogs at http://brenjacobson.blogspot.com/ and at http://howtobehappyhealthywealthyandwise.blogspot.com. ***i have posted 2 newspaper articles that were done about me, a year ago, in the blog.*** also i have contributed an article on body work, ergonomics and stress reduction to the book "pain free, 1,2,3" and another side bar on how to get what you want, for the 3rd edition of "from fatigued to fantastic" which also has the author's, dr. jacob teitelbaum's comments about me. a googeling of my name bren jacobson will turn up quit a bit of information for those who are afraid that i might be a stalker or fiend. for truth in advertising, the photo with the dolphin was taken in 2000. would have it updated but the dolphin has gone camera shy. all the rest of the photos of me were taken this year and last.

I have many interests and have traveled widely. I enjoy meeting people and making new friends. I have no agenda and enjoy people for who they are. Pluses are that I am very intelligent, honest, unedited, creative, independent, non-judgmental, and a good listener. Cons are that I am very messy, have a.d.d., and am organizationally and chronologically challenged. Things that are important to me are: my children 20 and 9, friends, pets, nature, books, computers and the net, art, movies, good food, travel, and conversation. I spend about 4 months in the summer and autumn in the adirondack mountains of n.y.. I traveled around the world for about 25 years and have lived and worked all over the u.s. as well as europe, the caribbean, and south america. I co-piloted a small Peter Max painted airplane from Ireland to India and back with Swami Vishnu Devananda. I also lived on my 34 foot sloop for 12 years and sailed across the atlantic twice. have run a health center, a meditation center, made documentaries for abc, taught yoga, been an artist etc. i now live with my cat, willow, who is almost a vocation.
i have transformed from an adventurer into something of a homebody but am still open to suggestions for adventure. one of my strongest characteristics is curiosity and so i am usually open to most anything new or different.

the link below will go to an article that was written about me this summer. it has a photo of me which illustrates the fact that spelling has never been my strong suite. just cut and paste it into your browser.

p.s. i just read "how to write better messages" which said to talk about the following, so here goes:
1. what i like: walking barefoot on moss, baking in the sun on a beach and going into a trance listening to the waves, playing with young animals including human, seeing wild animals in the wild, sailing with all the conditions are perfect (also when they aren't), taking my boots off after a day of skiing, jumping a horse, speed, iceboating, wind surfing, surfing on the ocean and on the web, being in the primeval forest with no signs of civilization, flying, eating a meal that has been cooked with love, croque-en-bouch, eating a fish fresh out of the water cooked with a rogier vergier recipe, being on the ocean out of sight of land, seeing the green flash and the northern lights, coming down mt. haleakala on a bike, spending time in a yoga ashram, trying something new, listening to peoples stories and getting to know them, catching up with old friends and spending time with them, helping people, solving problems, movies, books.
i have had lots of wonder and happiness in my life so this list could go on forever, therefore i will simply stop and go on to/

no. 2 my passions: my children, my pets, friends, trying to leave the world a bit better, learning, discovery, reading, films, the internet, love, the great mystery of life, and laughter.

no. 3 my dislikes: war and the current executive branch which got us into our current one, cruelty, piercings, tobacco, stupidity, cruelty, intolerance, fundamentalism, prejudice, dishonesty, organs (liver etc.), overdevelopement, greed, noise (including rap, punk, and heavy metal), advertising, concrete, hummers and stretch limmos.

no. 4 my fears: loosing my wits and not being able to find them, not finding wallet and car keys etc., being audited, having to make an insurance claim with allstate, hard drive crash, not being able to boot, viruses (human and computer, but mostly the computer kind), tent catapillars denuding my garden, not being self sufficient, dancing and singing.

no. 5 personal beliefs: life is ceaselessly entertaining, god has a great sense of humor and she might be a practical joker, no religion is totally right or totally wrong (one of my teachers said that god gave each religion part of his knowledge and to know more of it, we have to talk to one another), most people try to be good and do right, the greatest threat that we face today is not terrorism but destruction of our environment, handsome is as handsome does, and we can have our cake and eat it too. my life has been full of synchronicity and i don't think that it has been a coincidence, nothing is totally black or white (it's all mauve), all perceptions are distorted and relative and yet we act as thought they are real. i also agree with our great war lord, george w. that the french don't have a word for "deja vue".

no 5 my personality traits: a surfeit of here and nowness, a disaster when it comes to housekeeping, absent minded, a capricious memory, curious, unedited, impulsive, marches to a different drummer, different, odd, memorable, distractable, undiplomatic, honest to a fault, spontaneous, very disorganized, not always on time, paper magnet, wanderer, not an efficient shopper, more good intentions than the ability to realize them, adaptable, adventurous, full of a sense of awe and wonder, never quite sure what is going on, not able to figure women out or discover what they want, and intuitive.
