I am interested in almost every subject and love to hear what other people have to say. I love to hear new ideas!

I am a dedicated father and the primary caregiver of my son. I am separated. I am a teacher, which is something I take great pride in and invest a great deal of effort in. My son and my career take up a great deal of my time, but I love to meet new people in the little time I have off.

I'm looking mostly for interesting companionship, by which I mean friends with interesting things to say more than "friends" with different oral skills. I like to chat with people for a while before meeting face to face because I find that chatting brings out more of a person's personality with less of the nervousness and fidgetting that a first date tends to bring out.

I also enjoy the usual types of fun! I like hanging out with friends, enjoying a glass or two of beer, and shooting pool or playing darts. Poker is also one of my favourite pass-times.

I respect people who have the confidence to be who they are irrespective of whether or not other people approve all the time. I also respect those who make a strong effort to empathise with and help others.

I have a good sense of humour and am usually considered quite witty, but, for the life of me, I cannot seem to come up with anything to type here that doesn't sound lame... maybe I should learn something from that...

I'm a minor environmentalist and am deeply concerned about the current condition of our planet's fragile ecosystem. I try to make decisions that take this into account and, while I don't always succeed, I think I do a fairly good job of minimizing the ecological footprint I'm leaving.
