Single (separated, waiting for divorce to be finalized) dad of 5-year-old son, new to "online dating". Have been told that I'm blunt to the point of being abrasive because I don't follow the guidelines of political correctness and tend to speak my mind in a very honest and straightforward fashion, although I am very personable. Have also been told that I'm a hopeless romantic-I wouldn't mind settling down, but I don't want to simply settle.
In my lifetime I have loved and lost, made my share of mistakes and poor choices, and I have learned much from it. I'm known to be a "Jack-of-all-trades" (I am a "man of many hats"-don't let the picture fool ya) , but seldom have the time to do everything I'd like to.
Would like to meet an honest woman (any of those left out there?) for friendship and, perhaps down the road, something more serious. Looking for someone who does not require drama in her life to be happy (what a strange irony), someone honest and open; someone who enjoys quiet evenings in a stable and DRUG-FREE home environment as well as outdoor activities (camping, nature hikes, ect...). I'd love to find someone who is not looking to be "completed", but rather someone who is already familiar and comfortable with who and what they are; someone who not only enjoys doing things together, but who understands the concept of "being alone-together"-those times where each person is puruing their own interests and goals without making the other feel distanced or put off. Optimism and a good sense of humor would be a plus as well.

Something simple...coffee, a quiet lunch, a picnic in the park...something in a relaxed environment conducive to talking. Perhaps bowling or shooting pool if we're enjoying one anothers company...
