And, yes, I have a job! I have my own computer service and consulting biz. Life is good, business is great. I make my own hours, let the sun wake me up every day, meet new people all the time...and I get a check when I’m done. What could be better than that? I feel truly blessed and I’m thankful to be doing something I really enjoy.

Unfortunately, too many first dates are ruined by attempting to create the illusion of romance when two people haven't even met yet! The ideal first date will include plenty of conversation (hopefully), undivided attention, and won't be anything more than meeting for a drink to start. We will both know within minutes if there's a spark. If so, great, and we can feel free to cultivate it! If not, no harm done.

This dating thing is tough. Sometimes it's not any fun at all. "I like her but she doesn't like me", and vice versa. We all know meeting this way is unusual. Unrealistic expectations combined with a refusal to abandon past bad experiences doesn't help either. Why not look for the good qualities that we all have and just have some fun? And if it doesn't work out, then...

You can get on with your search, baby,
and I can get on with mine.
And maybe some day we will find,
that it wasn't really wasted time.
