| | I travel. A lot. I'm interested in a man who is independent and appreciates independence in a partner. Or perhaps has the means and freedom of time to travel with me? I once overheard someone in a coffee shop say 'I want a man with a real job that can make me laugh.' That almost sums it up - someone real. Except I would want him to know how to use chopsticks.
I don't judge based on material or professional accomplishments and don't expect to be judged that way either. I'm not interested in smokers or anyone who 'needs' alcohol to have a good time. Or anyone trying to reclaim their youth chasing after inappropriately younger women. An intelligent man, who could hold his own with me, will be looking for wit and wisdom - qualities he will also have.
I would find a man attractive who is confident, well-travelled, well-read, loves the outdoors but can suit up for the theatre (not that the suit is necessary...)and also enjoys the simpler things in life.
The chopsticks comments means that I like a man who has been there, done that...someone with a sense of adventure, who will order something other than deep-fried chicken balls from the menu, who loves to try new things and places and who doesn't always have to be the leader. Who knows that we all have so much to give and to learn from each other.
I'm not into clubs - too smoky, too loud - but I really enjoy music - whether it's a concert, blues or jazz club or outdoor folk festival.
Myself, I am well-travelled, restless by nature, and always looking to the horizon. I have an innate sense of adventure.
If you've read this far, you know I'm a direct person. Although not in a hurtful way - that's the wisdom that comes with living a few days on this planet. I have been there, done that, and am still doing it. I have lots of stories, love to share them. and would love to hear yours. I have a quick but quirky sense of humour. I have two dogs that travel with me and get a lot of my time and attention.
While I'm interested in a long-term relationship, I believe friendship is the foundation for any relationship. I also think chemistry is important, but can be developed through getting to know each other. That instant spark or je ne sais pas quoi is great, but doesn't always lead to a successful relationship - hence the friends first idea.
I've just arrived in Sierra Vista area and look forward to meeting a variety of people. Whether we discover a romantic interest or not, I really enjoy meeting people and never consider meeting someone a waste of time. If you are quickly flipping through people like baseball cards hoping to meet 'the one', rather than having a genuine interest in getting to know people as you go....we'll both be happier giving that experience a miss.
As for character and activities? I'm down to earth, like a lot of outdoor activities - hiking, camping, etc. I like foreign films, ethnic restaurants, and garage sales (but not pina coladas or getting caught in the rain).
